Wuzhen Xizha

Food recommendation: You must eat the three famous dishes in Wuzhen.

1. White water fish. Generally, whitewater fish will die immediately after being caught out of the water, but if they are preserved properly, their taste will not change. If you come across live whitewater fish, don’t miss the opportunity to let the store kill it alive and steam it to enjoy its freshness and original flavor. It is recommended to taste it at the century-old Jiujiang Tower Hotel in Wuzhen Dongzha Scenic Area.

2. Braised mutton. Wuzhen’s braised mutton is very particular about the selection of ingredients. It must use the “flower nest sheep” of the year, that is, Qingnian Hu sheep. This kind of mutton has tender meat with less fat, fine and clean skin, and a great taste. You can also buy it at Jiujianglou Hotel tasting.

3. Wuzhen sauce chicken and duck. During processing, the whole dish is marinated in the original juice and cooked three times before being cooked. Then, the best soy sauce, rice wine and other condiments are added for marinating and roasting. After it is cooked, it must be coated with a layer of sesame oil to complete it.
