1, Peking University West Gate

Before 1952, Peking University and yenching university merged into the new Peking University, the west gate of Peking University was the main entrance of yenching university. It is a classical three-opening red painted palace gate building, only seven or eight meters high. Peking University was once the former residence of Mi, a famous calligrapher in Ming Dynasty. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed Hongya Garden, where Ma Gorni, the special envoy of King II of England, lived. Therefore, Yuan Shao became the earliest accommodation for foreign missions in China. Spoon Garden is where international students live.
