Where is the best place to travel during the Mid-Autumn Festival in Suzhou
1. One step at a time, the Humble Administrator's Garden
The Humble Administrator's Garden is located in Loumen, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. The garden is one of China's four famous gardens, a national key cultural relics protection unit, one of the country's special tourist attractions, and a world cultural heritage. So far, the Humble Administrator's Garden is the only one in the country that has these four titles. The whole park is divided into four parts: east, middle, west and residential. The central part has beautiful mountains and rivers, elegant halls and pavilions, and luxuriant flowers and trees, which is the essence of the whole garden. The water corridor in the west is winding, with reflections from the towers, making it quiet and peaceful. In the east, there is Pinggang grassland, bamboo dock and meandering water, and the space is open.
The Bonsai Garden and Yashizhai are two bright pearls embedded in the Humble Administrator's Garden. In the western part of the Humble Administrator's Garden, a bamboo fence with swaying clear shadows is home to the finest bonsais of the Su style. It is known as the "treasure of the famous garden", with more than 50 varieties and nearly 10,000 bonsais. Yashizhai is located in the middle, a quiet courtyard surrounded by pools of water and verandahs. It displays "wonderful stones" that are excellent indoor offerings for the Qing Dynasty. A variety of strange stones in various shapes and forms are enshrined on desks and tables with mahogany stands, making them more and more elegant.
Travel Tips
1. The garden uses a handheld electronic tour guide, which can be rented at the entrance.
2. After leaving the Humble Administrator’s Garden, walk 100 meters west to the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Prince Zhong’s Mansion, Suzhou Museum, and Suzhou Garden Museum. Walk about 100 meters along the garden road to the Lion Grove and Suzhou Folk Museum.
2. Xiaoqiaoliu Pingjiang Road
After passing the Humble Administrator’s Garden, turn right at the second intersection and you will find Pingjiang Road. From the outside, it looks like a very ordinary and ordinary small alley. If you're not paying attention, you'll miss it. Walking along the alley, the more you walk, the more interesting it becomes.
Pingjiang Road is also known as "Shiquanli" in ancient times. The entire street is built along the water, with small bridges, flowing water, white walls and black tiles. It is an ancient street in Suzhou that has the most water town feel.
3. Kun Opera Museum
Kun Opera scenic spots performances are held every Sunday at 2 pm. Each person can enjoy a 2-hour Kun Opera performance for only 10 yuan. The Pingtan Museum holds a Pingtan performance every day at 1:30 pm. This Pingtan is mainly used for Zhanghui Pingtan. There is a section every day. Regular old Suzhou people come to listen every day, so you must book in advance. Tickets for the performance are 5 yuan. If you don’t listen, visiting the museum inside is free.
4. Rockery Kingdom Lion Grove
Located at No. 23 Yuanlin Road in the northeast of the city, the Lion Grove is next to the Humble Administrator’s Garden. It was built by Zen Master Tianru, a monk from the Yuan Dynasty, in memory of his teacher. It was created by Zhongfeng Divine Monk. Lion Forest has the largest remaining group of ancient rockeries in China. The rockery in the lake is numerous and exquisite, resembling a dancing lion. It is known as the "Kingdom of Rockery" and has the reputation of "Eighteen Scenes of Taoyuan". The highest peak in the park is "Lion Peak", and there are other famous peaks such as "Hanhui" and "Tuyue". The buildings include "Lixue Hall", "Woyun Room", "Zhiboxuan" and "Wenmei Pavilion" wait.
Enter the stone forest from the front. If you walk on the left hand side, keep turning left when you encounter a fork. Vice versa, do the same if you walk right, so that you can complete the entire stone forest.
Reminder: You can visit the Suzhou Folk Museum and Numismatic Museum together. One hundred meters north along Garden Road is the Humble Administrator's Garden.
5. Hanshan Temple outside Suzhou City, the midnight bell rings to the passenger ship
Hanshan Temple is not big, and the tower behind the temple is surrounded by repairs, so it can be turned around in a short time lock up. The bells of Hanshan Temple are so famous. At that time, a monk who "hit the clock in the sky" never dreamed that one of his casual routines would touch the heart of a down-and-out scholar on a boat on the canal. The down-and-out scholar was filled with emotion. He looked at the bleak red leaves beside the maple bridge and recited a sad and sentimental poem. Similarly, the scholar did not expect that his own momentary feelings would cause the sound of an ordinary Sanskrit bell in the distance to shake for thousands of years. The connection and influence between things are sometimes very mysterious. Things that seemed to have no connection at first became closely connected due to accidental fate, and have since become an inseparable whole. Now, I really don't know how many people come here every day because of this sentence "Hanshan Temple outside Gusu City, the bell rings at midnight", and they also want to listen to the bell that touched the heart of a poet.
The unique features of Hanshan Temple are as follows:
1. The architecture of the entire temple is not like other temples: "facing south and facing north", Hanshan Temple is "facing west and facing back" East".
2. Hanshan Temple It can be seen from the Fangtian pestle in the hand of the general who holds the main hall that Hanshan Temple does not accept visiting monks.
3. Behind the statue of Tathagata Buddha in the Main Hall, Guanyin Bodhisattva is usually enshrined. Hanshan Temple enshrines two monks: Hanshan and Shide.
4. You can ring the famous Hanshan Temple bell 3 times for 5 yuan, but you must ring it 3 times to represent "good fortune, wealth, and longevity" in the next life. Buddhism is most afraid of greed. If you knock 4 times, it will become empty; 5 times means the boundless sea of ??suffering.
5. Don’t go back to Hanshan Temple. Enter through the main door. Leaving the temple through the side door is also called the Liberation Gate.
6. Art Garden - a secret garden that only belongs to you and me
The Art Garden is hidden deep in a small alley on Jingde Road. It is difficult for those who have never been there. People who have been there many times may not find it quickly. Even if you have been to this small courtyard n times, you will still get lost when you go there for the n+1th time. Moreover, the outer walls of Suzhou’s old town have just been painted recently. The crude arrow signs originally painted on the exterior walls have been covered up, making them even harder to find.
The art garden is very small, so small that even if you stroll around slowly, you can go around it in twenty minutes. Although it is small, it is very interesting. The local elderly people in Suzhou like this place very much, because there are few tour groups to find here, so it is very quiet even in the peak tourist season. It is a good place to drink tea, chat and sketch.
The Milky Fish Pavilion in the garden was preserved from the Ming Dynasty. It is also the only Ming Dynasty building that has been completely preserved in Suzhou gardens. It has a wooden tile structure and not a single nail was used in the pavilion.
7. Jinji Lake, Ligongdi Commercial Street, Yuanrong Times Square Canopy
Although Jinji Lake is not a classic old scenic spot in Suzhou, the newly developed places have the beauty of new developments. After visiting the classical beauty, it is still very cool to go to Jinji Lake for a modern leisure trip.
If you happen to be in Suzhou on the weekend, you might as well go to the lake to watch the gorgeous fountain fireworks and the stunning water screen movie. Under normal circumstances, the water screen movie by Jinji Lake starts at 8 o'clock every Friday and Saturday night, with four movements and about half an hour.
After that, you can also sit in the open-air BAR of Moonlight Pier and have a drink while watching the night view. The cold wind of Jinji Lake is blowing, and the Ferris wheel lights up with colorful lights at night. It is still very pleasant to chat and laugh with your friends!
