Characteristics of the Jiuli Qiandun Han Tombs Group

The cultural relics unearthed in Sheyang Dun are very rich. According to historical records, there are thousands of cultural relics unearthed in the Qing Dynasty alone, among which the Han Dynasty Double Fish Bronze Washer and the Han Bronze Tiger are extremely precious. In the 48th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1883), Zhu Bin, a member of the Baoying Judiciary Committee, discovered the Sheyang Shimen portrait in Shuangdun, Pingjiazhuang, Sheyang. It is one of the earliest and most influential Han portrait stone carvings unearthed in my country. In particular, the picture "Confucius meets Laozi", which is a portrait of a "sage", is even more eye-catching. Many epigraphers have written articles one after another and compiled it in relevant records. Mr. Lu Xun not only kept rubbings of this portrait stone, but also specially studied it. After liberation, due to farmland reconstruction, water conservancy construction and other damage, thousands of cultural relics were unearthed in Sheyang Dun, especially pottery, which was not only large in quantity, but also rich in shapes and decorations. Although these Han Dynasty pottery are not as exquisite as the pre-Qin bronzes, nor as gorgeous as the porcelain of later generations, they have a unique rough and bold style, a vigorous and unrestrained and deep and grand spirit. A painted phoenix-pattern cup and plate set unearthed in Qianzuomadun in 1981 has an ingenious and unique design, exquisite craftsmanship, and brilliant new paint color, which fully demonstrates the achievements of the lacquerware craftsmanship of the Han Dynasty. The sapphire jade with Kui patterns unearthed in Bajiao Dun in 1982 and the white jade pendant with dragon and phoenix patterns unearthed in Dai Dun in 1998 are both masterpieces of jade craftsmanship in the Han Dynasty. The unearthed "Huailing Seal", a batch of official and private seals of the Han Dynasty, provides valuable physical information for the study of the seal system of the Han Dynasty. In order to effectively strengthen the development and utilization of ancient Sheyang Han cultural resources, the local government is planning to build a Sheyang Han cultural tourism area. The "Nine Miles and Thousand Duns" Han Tombs in Sheyang and other relics of the Han Dynasty are showing the splendidness of Chinese Han culture with its unique charm and simple style, and are welcoming more and more Chinese and foreign tourists.
