Brief introduction of Zhexi Reservoir

Zhexi Reservoir is located in Zishui, Anhua County, Yiyang City, Hunan Province, which is 15km away from the county seat. Zhexi Reservoir was built in 1950s, and now it is a scenic tourist area.

In the early 1960s, a large hydropower station was built by damming Zijiang River, which was the earliest ruby in Hunan. It not only brought light to the Sanjiang River in Hunan, but also formed the Li Bai Canyon in the upper reaches of the dam, making it a better Li Bai gallery in central Hunan than the Lijiang River. The starting point of the scenic spot is a magnificent dam, 330m long and104m high. It flies over the Zijiang River like a rainbow, with the dam lock in the north and the highway tunnel in the south. Every time the dam releases flood, the river with a drop of 100 meters flies down from nine overflow openings, nine silver bars are suspended in the air, and the rolling snow waves are like a river, which is amazing. At night, the dam is silvery, like silver stars scattered on the earth. From the power station dam to Pingkou by boat, the waterway is 56 kilometers long, along the banks of the river, with all kinds of mountains and green trees. Some are like horses on the river, some are like fairies coming down to earth, some are like two dragons playing with pearls, and some are like the reappearance of the Three Gorges. It is indeed a hundred miles landscape gallery, but it is better than Lijiang River. There are 45 isolated islands of different sizes in the reservoir, presenting a magnificent landscape with mountains in the lake, lakes in the mountains, mountains and rivers set each other off, water and blue sky. Yachts sail in the lake, sometimes as magnificent as sailing into the Three Gorges, and sometimes as sailing on Dongting Lake. Baota shan is fragrant with oranges and fruits, and hundreds of trees on the mountain of Academy of Forestry are amazing. The monkey has settled down on the island in the lake, and the beautiful peacock has spread its wings on the green island. In recent years, the mountainous areas in the reservoir area have also built folk resorts in the lake branches, and opened live fish halls and delicacies halls in the water boatmen. Foreign tourists come to the reservoir area for vacation and stay in bed for two or three nights and play for three or five days to ensure that you are happy and fresh every day.
