What should you pay attention to when traveling to Tibet?
Tibet is a major tourist province in China, with an average altitude of more than 4,000 meters. It is called the "Roof of the World". Precisely because of its high mountains, deep waters and plateau landscapes, almost no one does not travel to Tibet. But traveling to Tibet is not an easy trip. The environment in Tibet is not as good as imagined. On the contrary, it is a very difficult road. What should I pay attention to when traveling to Tibet?
Pay attention to your physical condition. Not everyone is suitable to travel to Tibet, only those who are in good health can travel to Tibet. If the situation is not serious, you can travel to some low-altitude areas in Tibet. It is known that most people suffer from altitude sickness when entering Tibet. If we're healthy, it's no big deal. After all, health is the capital of revolution.
You need to bring all your equipment to Tibet. Although traveling to Tibet was for fun, it wasn’t all that interesting along the way. You have to bring all your equipment with you to Tibet, otherwise it will be very uncomfortable along the way. There is a big temperature difference between day and night in Tibet, so you must bring your jacket and warm clothes, and prepare two sets of clothes to change into. Tibet is a plateau area where mountains and lakes are common. It is best to bring a pair of hiking shoes that are non-slip and waterproof. In addition, you can prepare a pair of sneakers as a backup. You should also prepare some underwear and socks to wear underneath. Going to Tibet is not a matter of one or two days. It will be very uncomfortable if you don't change clothes.
Etiquette. If a Tibetan friend sticks out their tongue at you, they are not laughing at you, but showing respect for you. Don't touch the heads of Tibetan compatriots casually. For Tibetans, touching the top of their heads is a very sacred ritual, and only living Buddhas and monks are allowed to touch their heads. If you are lucky enough to be invited to a Tibetan home, do not step on the threshold and do not spit in the room or in front of other people. Otherwise, it will be seen as disrespectful to them. In Tibetan families, men and women need to sit separately, and men are on the left and women are on the right, so they cannot sit together. If you see Tibetans pasting red cloth strips, planting branches or making fires in front of their doors, it is because there are patients or women giving birth at home. No one is allowed in at this time.
