Shaoxing’s famous attractions:
1. Jianhu Lake
Jianhu Lake is located in the south of Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. It is a famous water conservancy project south of the Yangtze River in my country. The remaining parts after the lake was flooded. It is commonly known as Changhu, Dahu, Qinghu, and elegantly named Jinghu and Hejian Lake. 2. Orchid Pavilion
Orchid Pavilion is located at the foothills of Lanzhu Mountain, 13 kilometers southwest of Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. It is the garden residence of Wang Xizhi, a famous calligrapher and calligraphy sage in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. It is a Jin Dynasty garden . According to legend, King Gou Jian of Yue planted orchids here during the Spring and Autumn Period, and set up a post pavilion during the Han Dynasty, hence the name Orchid Pavilion. The current site was rebuilt by Shen Qi, the then governor of the Ming Dynasty in the 27th year of Jiajing reign in the Ming Dynasty (1548 AD). After several reconstructions, it was restored in 1980 into the style of a Ming and Qing garden.
3. Shen Garden
Shen Garden is a national 5A-level scenic spot located in Chunbo Lane, Yuecheng District, Shaoxing City. It is a famous garden in the Song Dynasty. Shen Garden has a history of more than 800 years. Shen Garden, also known as "Shen's Garden", is the private garden of a wealthy businessman named Shen in the Southern Song Dynasty. It was built in the Song Dynasty and was very large when it was first completed, covering an area of ??70 acres. In the garden, there are pavilions, small bridges, flowing water, green trees, and Jiangnan scenery. Shen Garden is a national 5A-level scenic spot. It is the only Song-style garden among the many classical gardens in Shaoxing's history that has been preserved to this day.
4. Dayu Mausoleum
Dayu Mausoleum, known as Yuxue in ancient times, is the burial place of Dayu. It is backed by Mount Kuaiji and faces Yuchi in front. It is located at the foothills of Kuaiji Mountain outside the gate of Jishan in the southeast of Yuecheng District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, and is 3 kilometers away from Shaoxing City. Dayu was a flood control hero in ancient times. He was the founder of China's first dynasty and the Xia Dynasty. He was revered as the "ancestor of the country" by future generations. During the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, Dayu's Mausoleum was designated as one of the 36 royal mausoleums in the country.
5. Lu Xun’s Hometown, Shaoxing
Shaoxing Lu Xun’s Hometown is located at No. 241 Lu Xun Middle Road, Yuecheng District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. It is the hometown where Lu Xun was born and lived during his youth. It was restored and protected in 1953 year, covering an area of ??50 hectares.
