What are the interesting tourist attractions in Baoji city?

1. Famen Temple

Famen Town is located about 0/0 km north of Fufeng County, Baoji City, and was founded in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. This "Royal Monastery" in the Tang Dynasty has become a Buddhist holy place that the whole country looks up to because of its possession of Sakyamuni's "Finger Bone Relic", the highest sacred object of Buddhism. Today's Famen Temple is divided into two parts: the former site buildings in Tang Dynasty style (Famen Temple and Treasure Hall) and the controversial new cultural scenic spot. You can buy tickets from the old site or from Shanmen Square on the west side of the newly-built cultural scenic spot.

Treat all the treasures of Famen Temple as tourists. If you want to see all the treasures of Famen Temple, you should visit the underground palace, the treasure hall and the folding stupa in the cultural scenic spot of the old Famen Temple, because there are three "shadow bones" in the underground palace (specially made of jade according to the shape and size of real bones to protect them). Treasures unearthed from the royal family in the Tang Dynasty were exhibited in the Treasures Museum. The most precious "Buddha finger (real body) relic" is placed in the folding stupa in the easternmost part of the cultural scenic spot. Unfortunately, this newly-built building was rated as the top ten ugliest buildings in a certain year.

If you enter the scenic spot from Shanmen Square on the west side of the cultural scenic spot, you will see Foguang Avenue, which is about 1 km long. There are ten glittering giant Buddha statues on both sides of the avenue. At the end of the east side of the avenue is a folded stupa. Sightseeing bus can ride on the avenue, and 30 yuan can go back and forth and wave to stop. The Buddha's phalanx relic is only open to the public on the first and fifteenth day of the first lunar month, weekends and major holidays.

To the southwest of the cultural scenic spot are Famen Temple and Treasure Hall. Under the real pagoda in the temple is the underground palace where the Buddha's finger relic was found. Now, you can watch three "shadow bones" at close range in the underground palace. From the underground palace, you can also visit the quiet temples, including the Bell and Drum Tower, the Ursa Major Hall and the release pond, all of which are typical buildings of the Tang Dynasty.

There are hundreds of treasures in the Treasure Hall, and exquisite cultural relics unearthed in the underground palace are displayed in the nearby Treasure Hall (also known as the museum). You can see hundreds of treasures offered to the Buddha by the Tang royal family, all of which are breathtaking. Among them, there are eight treasures, twelve rings, pure gold pagodas, white marble tombs, secret porcelain, tea sets used by the emperor and so on. Some of these treasures are made of pure gold, some have been lost, and some are unique in the world, which reflects the extreme wealth of the Tang Dynasty empire and the sincerity of the royal family to worship Buddha.

There are catering and accommodation services around Famen Temple, and most tourists will choose to stay in Xi 'an. There is a Foguangge Hotel near the west side of the cultural scenic spot, where you can eat special vegetarian food, but the price is not cheap. There are fast food to choose from near the old site, or you can bring your own dry food.
