Yunyang National Forest Park

Yunyang National Forest Park is located in the suburb of Chaling County. Xiangjiang River tributaries Jishui, Yucha Railway and National Highway 16 pass by. This is a rare urban forest park in Hunan Province, especially on a large scale. The park covers an area of 8,688.7 hectares and consists of Yunyang Mountain, Paradise Mountain, Yangliushan Mountain and Yingzuiyan Mountain, with the highest elevation of 963.2 meters and the lowest elevation of 11 meters. It belongs to the humid climate zone in the middle subtropical zone, with no heat in summer, no cold in winter, abundant sunshine and rainfall.

Forest Park is named after Yunyang Mountain, a famous mountain in eastern Hunan. Yunyang Mountain is 72 miles long and Fiona Fang is more than 7 miles long. In the garden, the peaks stand tall, the cliffs are flowing, the waterfalls are hanging, the deep valleys are secluded, and the ancient caves are hidden. The records of ancient books and magical legends have added charm to Yunyang. "Hunan Tongzhi" contains: Yunyang, Yan Di was sealed, which was the beginning of feudalism in Hunan. "A Brief History" contains: In the early Tang Dynasty, Yunyang was named Nanyue. Unexpectedly, Liu Yan, a courtier, went to Chaling and said that Yunyang Mountain was "fantastic and unique", but the water beach was dangerous and fast, and he was "anxious to live a long life", so he changed Hengshan to Nanyue. Therefore, Yunyang Mountain is called "Ancient Nanyue Mountain". Folklore is even more magical, saying that the old gentleman "became immortal in the flesh" at Ziwei Peak. Therefore, Yunyang Mountain is regarded by Taoism as a fairy land that can live in seclusion and live forever.

Ancient City of Southern Song Dynasty

There is a famous folk proverb in Hunan: "The city wall of Chaling is the city god of Anren". "The city wall of Chaling" refers to the ancient city of Southern Song Dynasty in Chaling. Today, the "Town God of Anren" no longer exists, but the ancient city of Chaling in the Southern Song Dynasty is basically well preserved, and it is the only well-preserved stone city in the Song Dynasty in Hunan. In 21, it was listed as a provincial-level protected cultural relic by the Hunan Provincial People's Government. In 24, it was rated as one of the "1 scenic spots in Hunan". Chaling County has strengthened the protection and development of the ancient city, and has invested in repairing the ancient city wall of 484 meters, and built the Yingxiangmen Gate Tower and the ancient city turret and other scenic spots.

the ancient city of southern song dynasty was founded in shaoding five years of southern song dynasty (ad 1232). At that time, a peasant uprising broke out in southern Hunan, and the rebels forced into Chaling. Yu Rong, Hunan's Anfu envoy, and Liu Zimai, Chaling county magistrate and military envoy, were overwhelmed, which became a heart disease for them. Yu Rong said, "The gateway to the two cities and two roads in Hengchen, which is as big as Chaling?" So Liu Zimai was ordered to build a city. Construction started in the fourth year of Shaoding (AD 1231) and was completed in the second year. After several dynasties of construction and expansion, the scale has expanded and the facilities are complete. By the Qing Dynasty, the circumference of the city wall had expanded to more than 353 meters, the height was 6 meters, and there were more than 1,2 piles, including 6 gates and 6 gate towers, 4 turret towers, 22 watchtowers, 1 scenic tower and 723 meters of dike protection. The pavilions face each other, and the stacks are connected, which is magnificent.

Nanpu Iron Rhinoceros

When foreigners come to Chaling, they must see Chaling Iron Bull. "Chaling Iron Bull" refers to Chaling Iron Rhinoceros. Chaling Iron Bull has a great reputation. As early as 1953, it was announced by the Hunan Provincial People's Government as a cultural relic protection unit. In 1984, it was re-announced by the provincial people's government. When Comrade Mao Zedong praised the old Red Army of Chaling, he said: "The comrades of Chaling are very brave and good at fighting. Chaling is an iron cow!" In the 198s, there was a movie "Going Home" based on the story of Chaling's struggle during the Agrarian Revolution. In the story, the "iron cow" in Tieniu Town was originally called "Chaling Iron Cow".

The iron rhinoceros in Chaling was cast in 1232, the fifth year of Shaoding in the Southern Song Dynasty. This year, Chaling City was washed away by the flood just after its completion. As a result, the county magistrate Liu Zimai "lifted several thousand kilograms of iron and cast it as a rhinoceros to put it on the river bank to kill the water potential."

Doctor Zhongxian memorial archway in Longjiaci

Doctor Zhongxian memorial archway in Longjiaci is located in Huangtu Village, Zhitang Township, Chaling County, and is a cultural relic protection unit in Hunan Province. In the sixth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1572), Long Qingyun, a former magistrate in Long 'an, Sichuan Province, became an official, and built this memorial archway in memory of his ancestor, Dr. Long Renfu of Zhongxian. It was rebuilt in the sixth year of Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty (1856). The genealogy of Long surname, which was renewed for 7 years in National Defense University of China, is not recorded in memory of whom it was built. Because this dragon family name was from Song Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, four people were awarded the title of "Doctor Zhong Xian" successively. Later, for whom the memorial archway was built, several statements and touching stories spread.
