Introduction to Cheng Hai

Cheng Hai is also called Black Wuhai.

Located in the middle of Yongsheng County, Yunnan Province, 46 kilometers south of Yongsheng County; Chenghai is long from north to south and narrow from east to west. It is one of the eight beautiful plateau lakes in Yunnan.

Chenghai is now a closed lake.

Chenghai first entered Jinsha River from Haikou River. After 1609, the water level decreased year by year, and it was no longer connected with rivers, and gradually evolved into an inland lake. Although Chenghai has no sewage outlet, it is an alkaline lake, which discharges part of the lake as groundwater. The lake is rich in carp, white stripes, layering, red wings and other fish.

Chenghai is one of the three natural producing areas of spirulina in the world.

Spirulina is a tiny plant, invisible to the naked eye, floating on the water. Under the microscope, it looks turquoise and unbranched, like a spiral spring, hence the name Spirulina. Spirulina is the most abundant and balanced organism known to mankind on the earth.
