The Taihu Lake Scenic Area is located in the transition zone from the subtropical zone to the warm temperate zone. It has a mild climate, moderate rainfall, and four distinct climates. It is bounded by the Huaihe River and the main irrigation canal in northern Jiangsu, and the warm temperate humid and semi-tropical zone to the north. The climate is humid monsoon, and the south is a subtropical humid monsoon climate. The annual average temperature is 13.2°C, increasing from north to south; the annual average precipitation is 782 to 1150 mm, more in the south than in the north, and more along the coast than inland.

The scenery is full of praise. In addition, the more famous scenic spots along Taihu Lake include Suzhou Dongshan, Xishan, and Suzhou Taihu National Tourism Resort.
