Singapore+Malaysia self-help tour

(1) visa

Don't think it's convenient for travel agencies to handle affairs. Some travel agencies charge extremely high agency fees, so it is better to go to the embassy to apply for a visa. Singapore and Malaysia provide the following visa methods:

Room 33 18 of CITIC Plaza is the Guangzhou office of the Singapore Consulate in Xiamen, and visas are accepted from 9: 00 am to 12 from Monday to Friday. Those who do not apply in the afternoon will not be accepted on Saturday and Sunday. One visa form and two visa forms, both in English, are not difficult to fill out. In addition, two one-inch photos of white visa, a copy of passport and ID card, and the original for future reference. When the staff gives you a piece of paper, as long as there is no problem, you can pick it up from 4 pm to 4: 30 pm. Valid for 35 days, multiple round-trip fee 100 yuan. If you refuse to sign, the fee will be refunded to me.

2. Room CITIC Plaza 19 18 is the Malaysian Consulate. The staff has a very good attitude and it is easier to get a visa here. Original passport+1 visa form (easy to fill in both Chinese and English)+1 one-inch black-and-white or color photo. The visa fee was settled in 80 yuan in three working days, and it went smoothly. The visa is valid for three months, one way, and can stay in Malaysia 14 days. During your trip to Singapore, you can take a bus to Malaysia and then return to Singapore from Malaysia.

Singapore must apply for a visa (China passport cannot apply for a transit visa).

LCCT and KLIA in Kuala Lumpur support five-day (120 hours) transit pass (free of charge).

However, if it is from China to Kuala Lumpur first, it is suggested that the connecting international flight should not exceed 72 hours (the time is determined in some parts of China).

Thailand visa 230, agents are all above 250 visa on arrival 1000 baht (not all airports can handle it)

(2) Transportation

Singapore:

There are many means of transportation to choose from. The subway has a north-south line, an east-west line and a northeast line, and the cost varies from 0.8-2. 1 yuan, and the cost of each station is about S $0.9. A one-way ticket requires a one-yuan deposit, which is deducted when the ticket machine buys the ticket. After leaving the station, you can put the ticket into the ticket machine to refund the deposit 1 yuan. I didn't refund the deposit when I left the airport, so I made that one-way ticket as a souvenir. The deposit of the stored-value ticket is 8 yuan, of which 3 yuan is not refundable and 5 yuan is refundable. In addition, 7 yuan SGD can be used for cycling, that is, you have to pay SGD 15 when you buy it for the first time, and then recharge SGD 10 at least every time.

Compared with taxis, the subway is very cheap and convenient, and it can go directly to many scenic spots, so it is the first choice for tourism.

Malaysia:

I haven't taken the subway there, and the traffic in Kuala Lumpur is a headache, which is more chaotic than Guangzhou. I can't even find the subway anywhere because there are no signs. It is recommended to take a taxi, starting from Ringgit, 2 yuan, and the distance from Chinatown to the Twin Towers is only 3.3 yuan!

Tips:

1. Before going out, leave a copy of your passport with photo page, visa page and ID card at home, and one at the hotel, so that if you lose your passport while traveling in Singapore or Malaysia, you can get the copy in time and ask the local consulate in China for help, otherwise it will be regarded as illegal entry by the local authorities.

I suggest you change some US dollars before you go to Singapore and Malaysian dollars before you go to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is best to exchange as much as possible, because Malaysia's currency exchange is not as convenient as Singapore's. I tried to fight for RMB or Hong Kong dollars in the bank in Chinatown, and I was so angry that I didn't need a bunch of RMB. Finally, you have to send the US dollars you changed first in China (just bring your ID card and passport to the counter when you change US dollars or Singapore dollars in China)

It's best to take a map when traveling in Kuala Lumpur, and get familiar with the general direction before, because their drivers often like to make detours.

4. You can get a lot of free information, including maps and scenic spots, at the Singapore Consulate or the Malaysian Consulate when you go to the visa.
