Kulun Desert Travel Guide Where is the Kulun Desert?

Kulun Desert is located in Inner Mongolia. It is a place with special desert geography and landforms. The sand here is clean and pure, and the wind and sand are not very strong. It is especially suitable for tourists to experience in person. Let me share with you the Kulun Desert. Desert travel guide and detailed address information.

Kulun Desert Address:

Taminchagan Desert Tourist Area, Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (20 kilometers west of Daqinggou Scenic Area)

When can it be visited? When I opened it, it seemed to be very excited! Because I heard the wind and the sound of the keyboard jumping happily.

I like all natural and real things. I hate overcrowded tourist areas and hate superficially prosperous metropolises. Therefore, I decided to choose this desert trip.

Nowadays, there are so many artificially built things, and the world is becoming more and more mechanized and less humane. This trip with the "Zhenlai Baihe Outdoor" travelers made me deeply feel the deep human feelings and experience the real nature.

I know that there must be many readers waiting to see the detailed description of the desert tour. However, I think it is necessary to describe my fellow travelers first, "My group leader, my group." For some reason, this line has always come to my mind for several days!

When going out to play, the most important thing is not the distance of the journey, the quality of the weather, the quality of food and accommodation, or whether it is famous for its famous mountains and rivers. I think the most important thing is the people around you.

Whether this group of people are positive, kind, open-minded and knowledgeable, considerate, humorous and helpful, our team has done it. No matter how good everyone is in their respective fields, at least, After two days and one night of getting along with each other, they gave me so many touches and so many things worth imitating and learning from them.

The group leader, also the group leader, our eldest sister, told us many jokes along the way, most of which were based on her real experiences, but she was dignified in her bones. I heard that I signed up to go to the desert, and a colleague threatened me that there were wolves and bad people in the desert.

After I met the group leader, I was no longer afraid, because our group leader is 110, and there are 110 following us, so what are we afraid of? This point, I feel the advantage every time I stay in the service area, which is lifeless. , due to the arrival of the "Zhenlai people", there was a brief "gong and drum noise", and the whole team jumped "boom, boom, haha", as if announcing: This place is ours!

The captain was called Quan. He was a tall, rich and handsome man who didn’t like to smile and was very serious. I thought he was cold and cold! Later, he was bullied by several girls until he was covered in sand and almost buried alive. He ran forward and backward, just like a worried aunt. .

On the return bus, everyone was very tired, including the whole team, and he was occasionally feeling unwell due to drinking the night before. In this case, he actually carried a pancake. Green Onion ran from beginning to end and asked one by one: "Want a pancake? Do you want pancakes?" After giving out pancakes and cucumbers, he found a place to rest until everyone was fed. He also did not forget to remind the administrator: Who is this? How about chatting with the driver? Let’s find someone else!

On the way back, a person named “Yi disappears into the clouds” in the group space uploaded more than 300 photos, including everyone’s photos. I asked the whole team, who is this? Why have I never heard of this name? It looks like an old man. The whole team said, that is Haiquan, and no one calls him by his online name.

Of course I know Haiquan! It’s the Haiquan who runs at the front, with an amplifier in his waist, always creating an atmosphere! The name that the sisters shouted the most in two days: "Hai Quan, come here, take pictures for me; Hai Quan, come here, take me there."

It must be said that Haiquan has the best physical strength and endurance. I want to say, sisters, I’m here to have fun too! I’m not a waiter.

Hey! It is necessary to say that Haiquan’s avatar is too old! He is obviously a handsome young man in real life! Change your avatar quickly!

Kulun Banner is located in the eastern part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region , about 140 kilometers southwest of Tongliao City,

It borders Fuxin and Zhangwu Counties of Liaoning Province to the south, and is adjacent to the city's Kezuohou Banner and Naiman Banner from the east, west to north.

The Kulun Desert stretches across the entire northern part of the Kulun Banner for nearly a hundred miles, forming a majestic desert scenery known as the "Eight Hundred Miles of Vast Sea".

The Kulun Desert has a total area of ??nearly 300 square kilometers, about 60 kilometers long, 5 kilometers wide, and an altitude of 250-300 meters. It is the largest desert belt in Northeast China.

In recent years, Kulun Banner has vigorously developed the desert tourism industry, but there are still not many explorers who actually travel through the desert on foot.

The ancient temple complex is also a unique landscape here. Xingyuan Temple, Fuyuan Temple, and Xiangjiao Temple attract many tourists at home and abroad, and have formed a desert scenery and ethnic customs as the keynote. , a new tourism pattern that integrates grasslands, historic sites, lakes, deserts and other landscapes, and integrates economic and trade activities, cultural mainstream, and tourist scenery.

Crossing Route

Kulun Desert is located in the eastern part of Inner Mongolia. It is a relatively small desert among domestic deserts. This desert has a long and narrow trend from east to west, and there are many descent points along the way. You can choose to go from the west When traveling east, you can also choose to travel from east to west. This time, we chose to reverse travel from west to east, entering the hinterland of the desert from Dongmiao Village, Kulun Banner, and exiting in the New Airi Silver Sand Bay Scenic Area in a straight line.

The entire journey requires a 30-kilometer hike, which takes 12 hours including breaks to rehydrate and take photos.

The best time to travel

The temperature at this time in May and September every year is just right, and you have the opportunity to watch the sunrise, sunset, starry sky and other beautiful scenery.

Personnel Requirements

The Kulun Desert is less difficult to cross, has a high safety index, a simple route, and does not require high physical fitness. It is suitable for the general public and is suitable for beginners with less time, less money, and less experience. Travelers can not only experience the desert scenery but also accumulate experience.

Transportation

Train, which is also the main recommended mode of transportation, can go directly to Kulun Banner Station and then charter a car to Dongmiao Village. Since there are few trains at Kulun Station, you can also choose to arrive at Tongliao Station or Zhangwu Station and then transfer to a bus to Kulun. Self-driving and self-navigation, the route is very simple, and flying is not recommended.

Zhangwu County (arrived in the morning) - Kulun Banner - Dongmiao Village - Day 1 Zhaojiawazi (camping at an unknown camp) ——New Airy——Day2 Silver Sand Bay Scenic Area (camping on the edge of the desert)——Three major temples in Kulun Banner——Zhangwu County

Detailed itinerary:

Day1

After arriving in Zhangwu County, you can take a taxi (three-wheeled motorcycle) for 5 yuan to Zhangwu Bus Station. There is a shuttle bus from Zhangwu to Kulun Banner at 7:49 in the morning. This kind of bus has no problem in terms of safety, but the speed Generally, it takes two hours to run less than 100 kilometers. We arrived at Kulun Banner successfully at 10 am. Kulun Banner is very small and cannot replenish equipment, but there is a small supermarket where you can purchase food. Find a restaurant for a good meal at noon. This is also the last good meal before entering the desert. Be sure to pay attention to food hygiene and do not Eat spicy food to prevent gastrointestinal problems after entering the desert.

After lunch, pack your bags and get ready to go. It is more practical to rent a van (there are many Cullen vans), which can accommodate equipment and people. Remember to leave the driver’s phone number and make an agreement with the driver to pick everyone up at the exit. The cost for delivery and pick-up is more than 200 yuan. a car. It is about 50 kilometers away from Dongmiao Village, but there is only one road to Dongmiao Village. The road is very narrow and bumpy. We arrived at the entrance of Dongmiao into the desert at about 1:20 pm, and walked across a dirt road to the edge of the desert. .

There are some sporadic green vegetation on the edge of the desert. Equip yourself with snow jackets, knee pads, and sunglasses. Choose appropriate clothing, adjust the length of your hiking poles (be sure to install a mud support), and adjust your backpack to the maximum length. In a comfortable position, be sure to tighten the backpack cover, and finally take a photo and set off.

At around 5 pm, we marched to a kilometer northwest of Zhaojiawazi. We chose a place that was sheltered from the wind and had stable sand and set up camp. Of course, at this time, I did not choose to bury the pot to make rice. I put down my heavy backpack and immediately took off, having all kinds of fun and having fun. There is nothing more exciting than this, and I am hooked.

After dinner, night falls, feeling the ethereal silence, far away from the colorful night of the city, far away from the bustling traffic in the city, far away from the tense and busy work in the city, it is not an escape, it is the rebirth of the soul, it is Another interpretation of life.

Day2

I woke up at 6 o'clock in the morning, which is a bit late to be honest. I personally suggest that you should start the desert crossing in the morning when the temperature is low and walk more distance, which can not only improve the efficiency of travel, It can also reduce the loss of physical energy at high temperatures. The sun peeked out slightly, and the sunlight filtered through the clouds and hit the tent very warmly. The campground was particularly quiet. Standing on the sand dune, the sound of the stove boiling water could be faintly heard. For breakfast, we prepared seaweed and egg drop soup and red date, oatmeal and eight-treasure porridge with some toasted bun slices, which was very rich.

PS Red Date Oatmeal Eight-treasure Porridge Method: Boil the water, put the dried date slices into the boiling water and cook, add a few pieces of rock sugar, pour the oats into the pot and cook for a while, turn off the heat and pour in a Mix the can of eight-treasure porridge and it is ready for use. Remember not to cook the eight-treasure porridge in boiling water, as it will easily burn the pot. You can try it if it tastes good.

We packed up the camp and set off. The wind and sand in the morning were particularly strong, making the march difficult. I felt that sand was all in my ears, eyes, nostrils, and between my teeth. The fine sand blew on my face, which was a bit painful. , the backpack cover was also blown off several times. If it hadn't been reloaded, it would have felt like it was blown away. The sand on the top of the dune in the distance was suspended in mid-air as if it had been blown up by the wind, casting a layer on the desert. The veil of mystery.

PS

Most people like to climb sand dunes when they first enter the desert. It can be said that they go up as soon as they see a sand dune, and then run down wildly to experience the feeling of conquest and downward pressure of standing on the top of the dune. The excitement of running wildly. But it really consumes your energy. It is recommended not to climb the sand dunes endlessly, just experience it, and avoid the sand dunes as much as possible.

It may be due to the decrease in physical strength, or it may be due to the frequent stops to take pictures. The traveling speed is not very fast. Due to the heavy wind and sand, the GPS will be used to adjust the traveling direction every time we travel, and we will try to walk as little as possible. It was a waste of time, because the desert terrain is very easy to see on the map, but when I entered the field in person, I found that everywhere I looked, there were rolling sand dunes, and it was not easy to identify the direction.

At noon, everyone simply replenished some road meals. In the dry climate and strong wind and sand, it was really hard to eat. Deep in the desert, who is willing to give up the beautiful scenery between heaven and hell and take some pictures of the desert? Bikini is still a very meaningful thing to keep as a souvenir.

We arrived at the extraction point at 15:30 in the afternoon and chose a camping spot on the edge of the desert just north of New Airy. This was equivalent to completing the crossing mission ahead of schedule. Today we actually traveled 15.7 kilometers and everyone was really tired. , instead of setting up camp, we rested in place. On the last night in the desert, everyone chose to camp on the edge of the desert. Firstly, they wanted to retain the best memories in the desert, and secondly, it was convenient to evacuate at any time the next day. After playing, we had a simple dinner, and the happiest thing was that we could relax a little and drink water.

As night falls, after eating and drinking, we begin to prepare for tonight’s bonfire celebration party. There is a lot of firewood drying on the edge of the desert, and the team members go out separately to collect firewood. After setting up the firewood and finding some dry materials to light the bonfire, the celebration party officially began, and the cheers of victory cut through the silent night sky in the desert. As the flames extinguished, the team members returned to the tent one after another, wiped their faces with wet wipes, and applied a facial mask. They enjoyed themselves so much. It was a wonderful night.

Day3

I slept in this morning and did not start a meal. After waking up naturally, I packed up the camp and withdrew from the desert at the Yinshawan Mongolian Camp and continued walking on a dirt road. We walked around to a bridge to cross the Livestock River. We waited until Lao Bao, the van driver we had contacted in advance, loaded up the van and gathered our troops.

We arrived at Kulun Banner at 10:40 in the morning. Our driver Lao Bao acted as a tour guide for us. We visited the three major Kulun temples and watched the Xingyuan Temple Dharma Ceremony. The temples here belong to Tibetan Buddhism, and there are no tickets available. At noon, we found a restaurant and invited the driver to have a meal with us. For someone who had just come out of the desert, he ate so much that the driver was shocked. In the afternoon, we bought some local beef jerky and paid the driver some money to send it directly to Zhangwu. We found a bathing center in Zhangwu and took a bath. The great journey ended here.

In addition, when we were taking pictures of the sunset in the desert yesterday, everyone beautifully changed into floral skirts, wore gauze scarves, and rushed to the sand to take pictures in the waves. Who shouted from behind: "Old man from the Gobi Desert." Woman!

Who? Who is calling the ground?

Everyone, beat him up!

Remind friends and relatives who sign up for the "Zhenlai Baihe Outdoor" travel group in the future Everyone, be prepared before traveling. No matter what, you must work hard to improve yourself. Try to be knowledgeable about the past and present, astronomy and geography, folk art, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, poetry and songs. You must have some in your mind, otherwise it will be called ice. The quirky host will never let you go, she is so bad! She can't be fixed at all, she must "come on"! Hurry up, someone can cure her! I feel like I want to go to the sky, shoulder to shoulder with the sun.

Let’s get back to business, it’s time to talk about the desert.

The desert has always been a mysterious place that I yearn for, but I also know that not everyone can go there. The only desert in my mind is the Sahara. I watched a movie called "Seventy-Seven Days" some time ago. The true story of the protagonist traveling through the no-man's land of Qiangtang shocked me greatly! I don't understand why people sometimes yearn for bitter cold places. Just like some friends can't understand that I am willing to walk into the desert when the temperature is over 30 degrees Celsius.

It is to experience the hardness of life,

It is to poke that point, that indescribable sense hidden deep in life. Everyone has this corner, some people don’t want to reach it and leave it deserted; some people don’t even know it exists.

Kulun Silver Sand Bay is located in Tongliao Kulun Banner, and the Gaode map will show the Horqin left wing. Horqin is no longer the pure prairie in historical legends. Now it has three faces: sand, grassland and farmland. The sandy land in Kulun Banner has evolved over a century to form a desert. People call it "Taminchagan Desert", which means "white hell" in Mongolian. Perhaps it initially brought despair and death to the nomads, but the land that nurtured them then plunged them into despair.

No experts can explain the specific reasons for the formation of deserts. When I was there, I marveled at the magic of nature and the mystery of Horqin. It does not exist in the global desert belt and is so close to the ocean. The strange thing is that it is surrounded by grasslands and forests, as well as the vast Gobi Desert, and it actually formed a desert out of thin air. The desert covers an area of ??280 square kilometers and is the largest desert in Northeast China.

Sand is not dust or soil, it is just sand. It is not sticky, not dirty, colorless, odorless, invisible and soundless, but it is pervasive. It can be blown away by the wind and flow by the water. It is very similar to the theory of yin and yang in Bagua, and more like each move in Tai Chi swordsmanship, transforming the tangible into the intangible.

People have tried their best to control the desert. In the end, the Kulun Silver Sand Bay tourist attraction better showed the beautiful picture of the harmonious coexistence of man and sand - turning it into a tourist attraction. This is the saying that the soil and water support the people.

There are many recreational activities, including sandboarding and ropeways that both adults and children can enjoy; those who like exciting adventures can play desert motorcycles and off-road vehicles. If you are in good physical condition, you can try hiking. Of course, the equipment must be complete, including various sun protection hats, sandproof goggles, scarves, quick-drying clothing, gloves, hiking poles, and sandbags. Even so, it still cannot stop you from being embraced by the "warm desert". When I returned to the camp and washed my face, my neck was filled with sand, but strangely I didn't feel any discomfort at all.

Camping is a part that everyone likes. Anyway, I came here for desert camping. The tent should not be set up casually. The whole team will lead the way. The local guide has already been contacted. Being organized means peace of mind.

The place where we camp is not far from Silver Sand Bay. It is an oasis in the desert, with trees and green vegetation, and the foot is still soft.
