Zhaozhou County is located in the southwest of Heilongjiang Province, north of the Songhua River, in the hinterland of the Songnen Plain, backed by the Daqing Oilfield, adjacent to Zhaodong City in the east and Zhaodong City in the west. It borders Datong District of Daqing City, Zhaoyuan County of Daqing City to the south, and Anda City to the north.
