Labuleng Temple is located in Xiahe County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province. The full name in Tibetan is: "There is a beautiful place in Kadan Zhuxia Dajizhaxi Yusuqi", which means a right-handed temple with joy, talk, restoration and prosperity. Referred to as Zhaxiqi Temple, it is generally called Labrang Temple.
Labrang Temple is a transliteration of Tibetan word "Zhang Qiang", which means the residence of the living Buddha master. It is one of the six monasteries of Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, and is praised as "World Tibet University" by the world. At the peak, there were more than 4,000 monks. 1980 opened for tourism. On 20 18 Northwest China Tourism Marketing Conference and Tourism Equipment Exhibition, it was shortlisted for "Magic Northwest 100 Scenes".
In history, Labrang Temple is known as 108 temples (actually much larger than this number), which is the political education center in Gannan area. Labrang Temple has retained the best teaching system of Tibetan Buddhism in China. The oldest and only existing Buddhist temple in the whole temple, which was built during the period of the first Lady Dowager's statue as a living Buddha, is the Buddhist temple of the next continuation college next to the Dajingtang.
Matters needing attention in visiting Labrang Temple:
1, the museum and the butter sculpture museum are in the same yard, which is definitely worth visiting. The butter sculpture is exquisite in shape and can be photographed.
2. In Labuleng Temple in the southern suburbs, after crossing the small bridge, climb to Longshan on the other side of Daxia River, and you can see the panoramic view of the temple. Gongtang Pagoda is also a good place overlooking Labrang Temple.
3. The external wall of Labuleng Temple is about 3.5 kilometers long, and it is all composed of prayer wheels, with more than 2,000 * *, and it takes more than 1 hour to turn each prayer wheel. You can walk around with devout believers. This is the longest prayer corridor in the world. Remember to turn clockwise.
4. Don't take photos in Dajingtang. It is best to ask the monk for permission before taking pictures.
If you don't go into the Dajingtang, just look at the location of Labrang Temple or just stroll around, you don't need to buy a ticket, because the temple is very big, there is no fence, and the roads are public passages. The small yards on both sides of the road are temples in the temple, and occasionally you can hear the voice of monks doing their homework and chanting.
