Later, he was a professor in the Department of Urban Environment of Peking University, a doctoral supervisor in physical geography, vice chairman of the Chinese Geographical Society, director of the professional committee of physical geography and tourism geography, and assistant editor of Geography Magazine. As a tourist geographer, Chen Chuankang has made great achievements in both theoretical research and practical exploration. Chen Chuankang's Collection of Tourism Geography, Appreciation and Development of Tourism Resources, Beijing Tourism Geography and Shenzhen Tourism Development Plan are four representative works showing Chen Chuankang's research achievements in tourism geography. More than 50 articles 150, such as Research on Tourism Development in Danxia Mountain Scenic Area, Theory and Case Study on Regional Tourism Development Strategy, and Research on Religious Tourism and Its Policies, were published in academic journals such as Geography and Geographical Research, which not only attracted great attention from domestic academic circles, but also spread rapidly from Hong Kong and other places to foreign countries. 1992 The inaugural issue of Taiwan Province Journal of Tourism Management commented on him as follows: "Professor Chen Chuankang, who calls himself a wanderer in eastern Guangdong, is the founder and pioneer of mainland tourism geography and an expert in mainland tourism development, and is known as the leading expert in China tourism geography." Therefore, it is necessary for us to study his tourism geography seriously, which is of great significance for us to continue to explore and develop tourism in this field.
