In 2023, the examination time for Shanghai Tourist Guide Certificate will be from August 25th to 27th.

Introduction of tourist guide card:

Students majoring in tourism management in the College of Liberal Arts can obtain a tour guide card, and other students with hobbies can also apply for it.

Conditions for applying for a tourist guide card:

The tourist guide card is the certificate that the state allows to engage in tour guide work, and it is also a necessary condition for tour guide practice. Tour guides are required to hold a tour guide card to ensure the quality of tour guide service and facilitate the supervision and inspection of tourism administrative personnel. Therefore, the Regulations on the Administration of Tour Guides stipulates that you must obtain a tour guide license to engage in tour guide activities in People's Republic of China (PRC).

Article 4 of the Regulations on the Administration of Tour Guides stipulates that a person who has obtained the qualification certificate of tour guides shall conclude a labor contract with a travel agency or register with a tour guide service company before applying for a tour guide certificate from the tourism administrative department of the people's government of a province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government.
