There should be no less than six public toilets per square kilometer in commercial streets.
In bustling commercial streets, public toilets should be set up within 4 meters apart; in communities with a population of more than 10,000, at least one public toilet should be set up.
The Municipal Planning and Land Commission recently drafted and published the "Shenzhen Small and Medium-sized Environmental Sanitation Facilities Planning and Design Standards (Draft for Comments)" to solicit opinions and suggestions from the society.
The draft also stipulates that in commercial streets, financial trading venues, catering establishments, parks and tourist attractions: the ratio of male and female toilet seats should be 1:2 to 3.
