Laojun Mountain is located northeast of the main peak of Shennongjia. It is named after the legend that Taishang Laojun often made elixirs here in ancient times. In winter, the top of the mountain is covered with ice and snow, and the mountainside is often shrouded in clouds and mist, just like an old man with a silver beard and white hair sitting in the clouds. Laojun Mountain is 2936 meters above sea level. From top to bottom, there are ten abrupt mountain beams like a dragon swooping down, and nine winding streams between the beams hanging like silver ribbons. On the left and right sides of the beams, ancient trees are densely covered, medicinal herbs are everywhere, wild fruits are plentiful, and strange animals appear from time to time.

Climbing to the top of the mountain, you can see the thousands of miles of Ruye to the east and the blue sky; to the west, you can see the peaks vying for heights, leading directly to Bashu; to the south, you can see the rolling Yangtze River, with silver snakes flying; to the north, you can see the vast sea of ????forests, with green trees touching the sky. Therefore, it is known as the thousand-foot cliff overlooking the blue sea, and the hundred-foot-high pines supporting the cloud waves. Its majesty, precipice, beauty and mystery are evident.
