Travel guide to Miaowan Island in Zhuhai

Zhuhai Miaowan Island

Miaowan Island is backed by the South China Sea. It is the farthest island from the coast among the Wanshan Islands in Zhuhai. It is located directly south of Wailingding Island and is close to Beijianshan. The island is juxtaposed in the depths of the sea, covering an area of ??about 2 square kilometers. It is named after the Tanah Lot Temple on the island.

There are two peaks on the island. One is Wengyadian, with an altitude of 214 meters; the other is called Linshan, with an altitude of 156 meters. The top of Wengya is basically all rocks, and there are a few trees on the mountainside of Linshan.

Introduction

The island has unique sea erosion landforms. The surrounding reefs around the island are dotted with stars, making it an ideal place for marine life to reproduce from the bottom up. It is rich in seafood and is a famous fishing area in Southeast Asia. It is rich in marine resources and is called the "Dream Island" by compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao. The biggest feature of Miaowan is the clear water, with visibility of about 5 meters. Maybe it’s because the sea water here is so clear and transparent that it is called the Maldives of China!

Main Attractions

The coral beach "Leafong Bay" in Temple Bay. The sand is white and crystal clear, the sea water is blue and clear, and there are rare red coral groups on the seabed. It is the best place for fishing, diving and other activities. The most beautiful attraction on the island is the beach. The beach surrounds half of the harbor. The sand is as white as snow, as crystal clear as dew, as fine as dust, and as soft as powder. It is not ordinary sand. It is made of marine biochemistry. The beach on Miaowan Island is the only one in Guangdong Province. Beach formed from coral fragments.

A local old fisherman said proudly: "This is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen, perhaps the most beautiful beach in the world." Here, the sea water is absolutely blue and clean, and the air is absolutely peaceful Comfortable, with an absolutely tranquil and elegant environment, Temple Bay Beach is definitely a heaven-given swimming spot.

Travel Guide

The residents on the island are simple and hospitable. Chatting with them on the island can help you understand another unusual side of the fishermen’s lives. Of course, what you can’t miss is the seafood on the island. There are abundant mantis shrimps, mud jellyfish, poached fish, squid, etc.! If you are a fishing expert, it will bring you greater fun! The sea water in Miao Bay is so beautiful, and the sea water quality is the best in Zhuhai. Everyone knows that the water quality in Hainan Island is very good, but in my opinion, Miao Bay is far away from Zhuhai mainland and there is no pollution, so the sea water in Miao Bay is different from Hainan Island. Gotta compare.

Miaowan Island has a naturally formed ring-shaped bay with a beach of about 500 meters for tourists to swim and dive. There is a small hill on the right side of the beach. The top of the hill can be used as a camp for outdoor donkeys. It can be said that it is an invincible sea view camp. Of course, the beach can also be used as a campsite, but when there are more tourists, I still recommend the top of the mountain as the first choice for campsites, which can accommodate about 7 double tents. After climbing forward from the mountain on the right, there will be a large platform with a natural stone turtle entrenched there. This place is an excellent resting place, but it is too far from the beach. From the stone turtle downwards is the nest of the red crab, so you can have some leisure time Always wear gloves and tent pegs to ensure a good harvest.

When going to Miaowan, first pay attention to sun protection. Generally speaking, the ultraviolet rays on the island are very strong. The second is drinking water. Several new small reservoirs have been built on the island, and a bathroom has been built next to the beach. The bathrooms are equipped with simple dilution facilities. The diluted water is generally not a problem, but it is a little dirty. The drinking water on the island is fresh water obtained from mountain springs. It is said that there is a problem of excessive heavy metals (unconfirmed), but the lack of drinking water is a fact.

Transportation information

Miaowan Island has few residents and inconvenient transportation. It does not have fixed transportation flights like other islands, so it is not easy to go there once. Generally, you can take a speedboat from Zhuhai (about 100 minutes to get there) or take a passenger boat to Wailingding Island and transfer to a speedboat (about 120 minutes).

Zhuhai Xiangzhou Beidi Passenger Terminal officially sails at 9 o'clock. The ship travels for about 3.5 hours (basic information of the ship - displacement: 67 tons, horsepower: 480, maximum speed: 10 knots, wind resistance: level 8 when carrying passengers)
