Xiaochi Town is located in the southeast of Huangmei County, Huanggang City, Hubei Province, at the junction of Hubei Province and Jiangxi Province, at the intersection of the Yangtze River and Beijing-Kowloon Railway, next to the bridgehead on the north bank of Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge, and across the river from Xunyang District, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. It is a special economic zone town, deputy county-level town and established town in Hubei Province. Known as the "gateway to eastern Hubei" and the "golden triangle" of business tourism.

Xiaochi Town governs 16 communities and 50 villages, with a town area of 154 square kilometers (20 17) and a population of 97 188 (20 17). At the end of 20 13, Xiaochi Town achieved a total social output value of 6.855 billion yuan, an increase of 18. 15% over 20 12.

Xiaochi Town was once listed as five small special economic zones, provincial development zones, provincial key Kouzi Town and national pilot town for comprehensive reform of small towns in Huanggang, Hubei. It is a "Chutian Star Town", "National Civilized Village and Town" and an advanced town in China. It is an economically developed town in the province and the third batch of pilot towns for reform and development in China. On May 26th, 2020, Xiaochi Town was selected into the list of strong agricultural towns in 2020.
