Southwestern China, the southeastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and the northwest of Sichuan Province. In 2011, Seda County achieved a regional GDP of 382 million yuan, an increase of 13% over 2010. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 197 million yuan, an increase of 6.9% over 2010; the added value of the secondary industry was 33.45 million yuan, an increase of 14.6% over 2010; and the added value of the tertiary industry was 151 million yuan.

In 2011, Seda County’s education work fully completed the “two basics” goals and tasks, and successfully passed the Sichuan Provincial Government’s education supervision and evaluation. There are 4,961 students of various types in school, and 245 students have been selected to attend "9+3" free vocational education. Funds of RMB 840,000 were provided to 650 poor students, RMB 587,000 was awarded to 506 families with children of farmers and herdsmen who had completed junior high school or above, and RMB 460,000 was provided to 268 students in non-compulsory education.

In October 2010, the second phase of low-rent housing project in Seda County passed the inspection and acceptance. In July, construction of a sanitary landfill for urban domestic waste in Seda County started. After completion, it will process 13 tons of garbage per day and have a landfill capacity of 133,000 cubic meters. 3.5 million yuan was invested to implement the whole-village promotion pilot work in 5 villages in 5 towns in Serba.
