What is the suspected food poisoning situation of tourists in Jiyuan 137, Henan Province?

On July 30th, a suspected food poisoning incident occurred among tourists in Jiyuan City 137, Henan Province.

On August 2, the US Food and Drug Administration of Jiyuan issued a circular in response to this incident.

According to the circular, on the afternoon of July 29th, 137 tourists led by Linzhou Youth Travel Service in Henan Province left Luanchuan, Luoyang City to stay in Jiyuan. In the early morning of the 30 th, some tourists had symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea and low fever. After receiving the report, Jiyuan City arranged for free medical treatment in the Second Hospital and People's Hospital. Up to now, 72 tourists have been hospitalized in XX. At the same time, the food safety level IV emergency plan was launched. The US Food and Drug Administration in Jiyuan investigated and sampled the food in the dining hall and arranged for inspection (a total of 36 food samples were collected, including 13 food samples on the afternoon of 29th, 14 food samples and 9 food raw materials at noon on 30th, and the inpatients were inquired and kept on file; Jiyuan Municipal Health Planning Commission went to the hospital to carry out epidemiological investigation, and took two batches of patients' excreta for testing. Jiyuan Tourism Commission actively communicates and coordinates with Linzhou Tourism Bureau and travel agencies to arrange related matters.

By August of 1, 19, the initial discomfort symptoms of hospitalized patients had all been eliminated, 54 cases were discharged from hospital and 8 cases were hospitalized for observation19.
