1. Dunhuang-Jiayuguan is nearly 400 kilometers from Dunhuang to expressway in Jiayuguan. You can charter a car (it takes 4.5 hours in expressway) or take a bus or train (the journey takes more than 5 hours). The first day, Mogao Grottoes, Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Spring. The next day, the scenic spots on the western line: West Thousand Buddha Cave, Dunhuang Ancient City, Yumenguan, Han Great Wall, Hezang City and Ya Dan landform.

Second, Jiayuguan

Jiayuguan takes two days. On the first day, I visited Qiyi Glacier in the hinterland of Qilian Mountain. On the second day, I visited four scenic spots in Jiayuguan: Guancheng of Jiayuguan, the first pier of Wan Li Great Wall, the Great Wall hanging in Montenegro and the underground corridor of Wei and Jin Tombs.

Qiyi Glacier is located in the hinterland of Qilian Mountain, 30 kilometers away from the urban area/kloc-0. At 8: 00 in the morning, the journey passes through Tuban Mountain at an altitude of 3,200 meters and Diaoban Mountain at an altitude of 4,000 meters (frozen soil zone, sometimes freezing), and it takes 3 hours to reach the foot of the glacier. Because the road to the glacier is also the road to Jingtieshan Mine in Jiugang, the road conditions are very poor because of the heavy vehicles carrying the mine for many years, which is a test for vehicles and people (there is no cell phone signal when entering the mountainous area, and sometimes driving in the mountains is really a bit like taking a driver's license). It usually takes 4 hours to climb the glacier back and forth, and sunglasses are essential without special equipment. Although the road is not far, there is no oxygen in the mountains, and people with average physique dare not run fast. Glaciers can be encountered in any weather all year round. The service station at the foot of the mountain has down jackets and oxygen bags for rent, and usually goes back to the city around 19.

The other four scenic spots usually take 6-7 hours, so you can take the bus 14: 30 to Dunhuang.
