Jilin Yanming Lake Ecological Scenic Area, the full name of which is "Jilin Yanming Lake National Nature Reserve", is located in Dunhua City, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province, at the southern foot of Zhangguangcailing in Changbai Mountain, bordering Ning 'an County, Heilongjiang Province in the east, Huangnihe Forestry Bureau in the north, Guandi Town, Emu Town and Heishi Township in Dunhua City in the southwest and Dunhua Forestry Bureau in the southeast.

The nature reserve covers a total area of 53,940 hectares and belongs to the type of "inland wetland and aquatic ecosystem". The main protection targets are the wetlands in the upper reaches of Mudanjiang, the important ecological corridors of endangered waterfowl such as black stork, oriental white stork, red-crowned crane and merganser, and the migration of Siberian tiger.
