Zhalong National Nature Reserve is located 30 kilometers southeast of Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, with the geographical coordinates of east longitude123 47' ~124 37' and north latitude 46 52' ~ 47 32', which belongs to the wetland ecosystem type nature reserve.

Located in the west of Songnen Plain, the reserve is a depressed basin formed since the late Mesozoic. Its landform type is mainly the impact landform type of river and lake facies in plain area, the river valley and channel are extremely inconspicuous, the water flow is slow, and there are both aeolian sand dunes and sandy land.

The nature reserve has the world-famous Zhalong wetland, the first in Asia, the fourth in the world and the largest reed wetland in the world. 1992 is listed in the list of internationally important wetlands. There are 15 species of cranes in the world, including 9 species in China and 6 species in Zhalong. There are less than 2000 red-crowned cranes and more than 400 Zhalong cranes in the world.

It is about 36.6 kilometers from Qiqihar Airport to Zhalong Nature Reserve, and it takes about 45 minutes by car via Waterfront Highway and Qizha Highway. Take bus 1 1 1 to the railway station and transfer to bus 306. It takes about 2 hours 10 minute.

Qiqihar High-speed Railway South Station is about 30.8 kilometers from Zhalong Nature Reserve, passing through Shuibian Highway and Qizha Highway, and the driving time is about 40 minutes. Take bus No.28 to Dagangzi and transfer to bus No.306, which takes about 2 hours.
