United Nations world tourism organization

The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is an intergovernmental international organization of the United Nations system and a major international organization in the field of tourism. It was originally developed by the International Union of Official Tourism Publicity Organizations (IUOTPO). In 2003 10, it became a specialized agency of the United Nations. 158 full members and 6 associate members. Its purpose is to promote and develop tourism, making it conducive to economic development, international understanding, peace and prosperity. Headquartered in Madrid, Spain.
