How to prepare for long-distance driving trips
Driving travel has become a fashion. Many friends who own cars drive their cars to the countryside during holidays to touch nature and experience the joy of self-guided travel. However, there are certain differences between long-distance travel and driving in urban areas. For your safety and for you to better enjoy the happiness brought by driving travel, please pay attention to the following points when driving long-distance:
1. Before driving, prepare a provincial and municipal highway atlas. It is best to mark the driving route clearly with a pen. If you are not driving an off-road vehicle, do not leave the road easily, especially in mountainous areas. When driving, choose national or provincial highways. These roads are wide, flat and safe.
2. Pay attention to road signs while driving. When the weather is good, you can tell the direction by time and the position of the sun. At night, you can use the orientation of private houses to determine the direction (most private houses in our country face north and south).
3. When driving outside, it is best not to let strangers ride on the vehicle, and put self-defense equipment in convenient places. If there is no special one, fire extinguishers and anti-theft locks can also prevent accidents.
4. It is best to have a fire extinguisher and be sure to know how to use it. Recently, there have been several incidents of spontaneous combustion of cars in Beijing. In just over ten minutes, the cars were completely burned. In most cases, car owners either don't have a fire extinguisher, or if they do, they don't know how to use it. In summer, the temperature is high, the working conditions of automobiles are relatively harsh, and fires caused by engine oil leakage and electrical failure occur from time to time.
5. Always carry a phone book with you and make sure your phone is fully charged. It is best to write your name, work phone number, parent and friend phone numbers on the first page so that you can get in touch with your family in case of an accident.
6. When traveling by car, you often go up hillsides. Before going uphill, be sure to check whether the brakes are effective and whether there is a triangular wood to cushion the wheels. If not, find some bricks on the spot as a backup.
7. For general slopes, the inertia of the vehicle should be used to go uphill. On long and steep slopes, when you feel the power is insufficient, you should downshift immediately without rushing. When the vehicle is parked or stalled due to shifting into the wrong gear or being unable to shift into gear, you should immediately apply the handbrake and start going uphill again. If the hand brake fails, use the foot brake to slowly move the vehicle back down the slope and back up the slope. When going uphill, be careful not to follow the car too closely to avoid the car in front slipping behind you and endangering the car behind you.
8. When driving on the highway, if there are no children in the car, it is best not to lock the door. The advantage of this is that in case of a traffic accident, the door will be easy to open. If the door is locked, due to The collision causes the car door to deform and cannot be opened, and the consequences of delaying rescue time will be more serious.
