Can I travel abroad during the probation period?

Legal analysis: you can travel during the probation period, but you must report to the inspection organ for approval. Probation is applicable to fixed-term imprisonment of less than three years (if the combined punishment of several crimes decides to execute the fixed-term imprisonment of more than three years, the principle of absorption should be increased so that the probation will no longer be executed), criminal detention, fixed-term imprisonment of more than three years or life imprisonment, recidivism and ringleaders of criminal groups, and probation is not applicable. In short, if a criminal who has been suspended commits a new crime or finds other crimes that have not been decided before sentencing, he shall revoke the suspended sentence, make a judgment on the new crime or newly discovered crime, and decide the punishment to be executed according to the combined punishment of several crimes.

Legal basis: Article 76 of the Criminal Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) implements community correction according to law within the probation period of probation. If there are no circumstances stipulated in Article 77 of this Law, the probation period of probation expires, and the original sentence will no longer be executed, and it will be publicly announced.

The decision-making organ of community correction shall educate the object of community correction, inform it of the regulations it should abide by during the period of community correction and the legal consequences of violating the regulations, and order it to report on time.
