Planning of Baiquan Ancient Town in Wuhan as a Famous Tourist Town

The district will join hands with enterprises to build Baiquan ancient town with a long history, and build a "famous tourist town in Hubei" after Mulan town in Huangpi.

Baiquan belongs to Panlongcheng Cultural Zone and is the birthplace of Chu culture. Baiquan ancient market town was formed in Shang Dynasty, with a history of 3500 years, and there are 13 municipal protected cultural relics. The territory is rich in natural resources, with large seasonal differences in tourism landscape, which is suitable for a long tourism period.

Dongxihu District will take Baiquan ancient town as the core and build Wuhan CED (Central Recreation Area) in Baiquan area. Baiquan ancient town is positioned as a tourist area with Chu-Han customs, with the overall planning of Jingdezhen Temple, Baiquan ancient well, Catholic Church and other historical and cultural attractions, supplemented by high-end business, leisure and sightseeing agricultural projects, and the construction of forest parks, bird reserves, wetland parks and wetland reserves to jointly form CED.
