Transportation

Xingcheng Ancient City is located in the center of the old town of Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province.

Inner city transportation: Yongning Gate (West Gate) of Xingcheng Ancient City is only two to three hundred meters away from Xingcheng Railway Station and can be reached on foot.

Bus: You can take bus No. 1, 2 or 3, get off at Nanguan Station, walk to Nanguan Commercial Street, and enter Xingcheng Ancient City from Yanhui Gate (South Gate) for sightseeing.

Train route: Take the train from Shenyang to Xingcheng, then walk east from Xingcheng Railway Station for 10 minutes or take bus No. 1 for one stop.

Take a train from Beijing to Xingcheng, or take the EMU train to Huludao North Station, which takes more than 3 hours, and then transfer to Xingcheng.

Self-driving route: From Shenyang to Beijing-Shenyang Expressway, take the Xingcheng exit.

Start from Beijing-Harbin Expressway/G1, drive about 390 kilometers, and get off the expressway from Xingcheng Exit (via Xingcheng Toll Station).

Introduction

One of the top ten ancient cities in China, well-preserved in China One of the four ancient Ming Dynasty cities, it is the only square acropolis.

Ningyuan Ancient City, together with Xi'an An Ancient City, Jingzhou Ancient City, and Shanxi Pingyao Ancient City, are listed as the four most well-preserved ancient cities in China so far, and are national key cultural relics protection units.

In January of the sixth year of Qi Dynasty (AD 1626), Qing Emperor Nurhachi led 130,000 troops to besiege Ningyuan City. He was seriously injured and defeated. In May of the seventh year of the Apocalypse, Emperor Taizu of the Qing Dynasty unified his army to attack Ningyuan City again, but was defeated at the city gate. Nowadays, many shops in Xingcheng still retain carved gold plaques, which are elegant and antique.
