What certificates can English majors take in translation?

1. National Translation Professional Qualification (Proficiency) Test (CATTI).

CATTI is currently the most valuable translation certificate, and professional title evaluation can play a role. Sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (referred to as the Ministry of Personnel), it certifies the bilingual translation ability and level of candidates in interpretation or translation.

Level 3, non-foreign language major bachelor degree, passed CET-6 or foreign language college graduates, and have certain practical experience in interpretation and translation;

Level 2, non-foreign language A professional graduate or a foreign language undergraduate graduate, with 3-5 years of practical experience in translation; Level 1, with 8-10 years of practical experience in translation, and a specialist in bilingual translation of a certain language expert.

The exam is divided into 7 languages, namely English, Japanese, French, Arabic, Russian, German, Spanish and other languages;

Four levels, namely: senior translator; first-level interpreter , written translation; Level 2 interpreting, written translation; Level 3 interpreting, written translation. Among them, senior translators are obtained through review, first-level interpreters and translators are obtained through a combination of examination and evaluation, and second- and third-level interpreters and translators are obtained through examination.

2. Shanghai Foreign Language Interpretation Certificate Examination (SIA).

It is jointly organized by the Organization Department of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Ministry of Personnel and the Ministry of Education. The test center is Shanghai, and the corresponding levels are divided into English-high, English-Chinese, and Japanese interpretation. Advanced English means possessing College English CET-6 or equivalent English proficiency level; Intermediate English means possessing College English CET-4 or equivalent English proficiency level; Japanese oral interpretation equivalent to Level 2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.

Assessment languages: English, Japanese

Cost: 210 yuan each for the written and oral exams of advanced English interpretation; 180 yuan each for the written and oral exams of intermediate English interpretation;

Translation Among the certificates, the most valuable one is the CATTI (Translation Professional Qualification Examination) from the Personnel Bureau, followed by the Shanghai Interpretation and Translation Qualification Examination, which is suitable for white-collar workers in the workplace.

3. National Business English Translation Qualification Certificate (ETTBL).

Sponsored by the China Chamber of Commerce, Business English majors (including international economics and trade, foreign trade, finance, international finance, marketing, international marketing, international business, tourism management, e-commerce, business administration, etc. ) junior college and undergraduate students.

The level of mastery of business English is divided into five levels, namely beginner, intermediate, advanced, translator and senior translator.

Elementary level: Able to conduct general business English conversations in business dealings. Be able to serve as employees of foreign-related enterprises and corporate export personnel of the same level, hotel receptionists, shopping mall cashiers, etc.

Intermediate level: Able to interpret and translate in general business meetings and business activities. Be able to serve as staff in foreign-related enterprises and as secretaries and office managers at the same level.

Advanced: Able to interpret and translate in general business meetings and foreign affairs business activities. Be able to serve as supervisors of foreign-related enterprises and assistant to enterprise managers and enterprise managers at the same level.

Translator: Able to perform complex interpretation and translation in large-scale business meetings, and capable of full-time business English translation work.

Senior translator: capable of interpreting and translating in various international conferences. In interpretation, we can perform consecutive interpretation and simultaneous interpretation; in translation, we can translate documents and professional materials for various foreign affairs and business activities and meetings. 4. National International Business English Test (CNBECT).

The National International Business English Proficiency Certification Examination organized by the China Institute of International Trade of the Ministry of Commerce was officially launched in 2006. The first examination is scheduled for April 2007 and is certified by the Ministry of Commerce of China.

This exam covers both language and business aspects. The language aspect tests English listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation abilities in an international business environment; the business aspect involves common business in international business, highlighting international trade.

This exam is divided into three levels. A National International Business English Test (Level 1) is organized on the second Saturday and Sunday of May every year. This exam is divided into two parts: written test (listening, reading, translation and writing) and oral test, with five items.

5. United Nations Language Personnel Training System (UNLPP)

The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) was established in accordance with the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 1963, 1934 Established in 1965 under Resolution No. (XVIII), it is a United Nations agency that focuses exclusively on training and training-related research.
