Liang Sicheng’s hand-drawn sketches of ancient architecture are so exquisite that even CAD can’t imitate them?

You are the flowers blooming on the trees, the swallows whispering in the beams, you are love, warmth and hope, you are the April day in the world! ?"You Are April in the World" Lin Huiyin.

Lin Huiyin’s poetry was most influenced by Xu Zhimo. When they first met, Lin Huiyin was only 18 years old. When she was traveling in Europe, she met Xu Zhimo who was studying in the UK. Xu Zhimo’s profound knowledge and elegant conversation made her The handsome appearance really attracted her, but in the end she did not choose Xu Zhimo, and Xu Zhimo also fell in love with the married woman Lu Xiaoman.

In 1924, under the arrangement of Liang Qichao, Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin went to the Department of Architecture of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, the United States, to study together. He also had gay ambitions, but Liang Sicheng didn't have much confidence in this relationship.

On their wedding night, Liang Sicheng asked her: Why did you choose me? ?Lin Huiyin’s answer was: ?I will spend my whole life answering this question. Are you ready to hear my answer? ?Lin Huiyin’s answer can also be understood this way: I have given up everything and need to spend my whole life loving you.

From 1930 to 1945, Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin visited 15 provinces and more than 190 counties in China, inspecting and mapping 2,738 ancient buildings. It was precisely because they traveled around that they were preserved There are many ancient buildings, such as Zhaozhou Dashiqiao, Wuyi Yanfu Temple, Shanxi Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, Wutai Mountain Foguang Temple, etc.

Zhaozhou Dashiqiao, whose real name is Anji Bridge, has a long history of bridge building in my country. The construction of stone bridges began in the Western Jin Dynasty, but because they were too old, all the stone bridges before the Sui Dynasty disappeared. Anji Bridge is the earliest existing stone bridge in my country. According to the "Preface to the Zhaozhou Stone Bridge Inscription" written by Zhang Jiazhen, the official secretary of the Tang Dynasty, Records: The stone bridge on the Qiao River in Zhao County is the trace of Li Chun, the craftsman of the Sui Dynasty. From this sentence, we know that the bridge was built in the Sui and Tang Dynasties.

Foguang Temple in Wutai Mountain was founded during the period of Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty. The Sui and Tang dynasties prospered. Although it experienced the incident of Tang Wuzong exterminating Buddhism, it was rebuilt in the eleventh year of Tang Xuanzong's reign (877 AD). The statues, murals, stone carvings inside the hall, the tomb towers outside the hall, and the scripture buildings are all relics of the Tang Dynasty.

Foguang Temple was discovered by Liang Sicheng in 1937. He also wrote "Recording the Architecture of Foguang Temple in Mount Wutai" for this purpose: I (Liang Sicheng) arrived with the investigation team Mo Zongjiang, Lin Huiyin, and Ji Yutang Wutai County, instead of entering Taihuai, turn north and ride a pack mule into the mountains. It is rugged and dangerous. You can overlook Tianlong below?

They walked up the mountain at night and discovered the abandoned Foguang Temple. , looking at this ancient building, Liang Sicheng was afraid that he would not be able to visit again, so he mapped it as detailed as possible. He and Lin Huiyin climbed to the roof. It was full of bats, and there were bed bugs in the wooden boards. They were with bed bugs and bats, back and forth. It took more than a month. When the surveying and mapping work was completed, the July 7th Incident broke out, and they returned to Peking with the manuscript.

Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin ran around to preserve these ancient buildings. In the 1950s, they proposed demolishing the ancient city wall of Beijing. At that time, Guo Moruo advocated demolition, while Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin advocated not demolishing it. Lin Huiyin was both angry and sick at the time. After the plan was finalized, Liang Sicheng was very sad.

Despite grief, he still devoted himself to ancient Chinese architecture. In the era before CAD, the accuracy of Liang Sicheng's hand-drawn manuscripts was truly breathtaking. He also cracked the mystery of ancient Chinese architecture and completed Interpretation of the "Heavenly Book" of "Building French Style".
