Fenghuang County is located in the west between Jishou City and Huaihua City in Hunan Province, and the urban area is built according to Tuojiang River. The Tuojiang River is like wine, and the diaojiao building along the river is as innocent as an intoxicating beauty. The streets and alleys of the city smell of Chili bacon all year round, and amorous Hunan women dance. On the moonlit night, the duet of Miao men and women can wake up every window near the water. Out of the city, I saw a mountain like a sword piercing the air and rising from the ground. This is the starry mountain. At the top of the mountain, there is a platform that suddenly opens up. Among them, there is a pool called Tianchi, which gurgles but does not dry up for a long time. There are often musk deer at the water's edge, and birds sing low. There is Qiliang Cave at the foot of the mountain. There are Wu Yun, Paradise, Dragon Palace and Galaxy in the cave, which combine the wonders of Guilin and Zhangjiajie in one cave.

8. Yunnan Yuanyang Hua Ting

Layers of terraces, like ladders, go straight into the sky along the hillside. Terraces are suitable for sunny slopes with good soil quality and rich water resources. Ailao Mountain area in Yunnan belongs to the maritime subtropical climate with abundant rainfall, where people have cultivated large-scale and world-famous terraces. Among them, the terraced fields in Yuanyang are more representative, especially in foggy seasons. The vast terraced fields on the hillside are shrouded in mist, just like a ladder from earth to heaven, which is very spectacular and beautiful.

At an altitude of 2500 meters, there are few Yuanyang terraces in Ailao Mountain area of Yunnan, and dense green virgin forests are everywhere. The Ailao Mountain area has been inhabited by the Hani people for generations. 2500 years ago, the ancestors of the Hani nationality came to this border mountain area in southern Yunnan from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. When they first arrived, they encountered a big problem: the surrounding valley was not suitable for planting at all. Hani people fought against nature with their tenacious national character, built a wall with stones to surround newly reclaimed farmland, attracted mountain spring irrigation, and planted rice in terraced fields surrounded by water mist.

During the Ming Dynasty in the14th century, this technology, which was cultivated from rugged mountains, spread all over China and Southeast Asia, and the Hani people even turned the mountains around Ailao Mountain into "works of art". So Ming Taizu gave the Hani a name called "Mountain Carving", and this good name was handed down from generation to generation.

From February to March, I went to Yuanyang, and along the highway from the county seat, I saw layers of terraced fields like mirrors, extending down from the hills and meeting Cheng Liangtian. In the alternation of sunshine and clouds, the weather is unpredictable and magnificent. Seeing Hani and Yi men and women dressed in colorful national costumes, or waving hoes to trim the ridges of fields, or driving cattle to plow fields, they can't help but show infinite respect.
