Yangtiangang Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery

From September 13 to 16, 1926, part of the Second and Third Armies of the Northern Expeditionary Army fought fiercely with the troops of the Beiyang warlord Deng Ruzhuo in the Yangtiangang area. The Northern Expeditionary Army was defeated first and then won, severely inflicting heavy losses on the enemy. In this battle, more than 2,000 people of the Northern Expedition were killed, and more than 200 Xinyu farmers died.

In order to commend the martyrs' meritorious service, in August 1929, Jiangxi Provincial Chairman Zhu Peide allocated funds to build a monument. The inscription reads: "Monument to the fallen soldiers of the Third Army of the National Revolutionary Army in the Battle of Xinyu." There is a knife on the top. The Xinyu Municipal Government has now opened the west side of Yangtian Gang as the Martyrs Cemetery, rebuilt the Martyrs Monument, the Martyrs Cemetery and the four pavilions of the Northern Expedition, the Red Army, the Anti-Japanese War, and the Liberation Pavilion, and has become a traditional revolutionary education base for young people.
