Introduce the charm of Wuhan.
Wuchang, Hanyang and Hankou in Wuhan have their own characteristics in history, scale and development speed.
The name of Wuchang began at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty and the beginning of the Three Kingdoms. In order to seize Jingzhou with Liu Bei, Sun Quan moved his capital from Jianye (now Nanjing) to Hubei County in 22 1 A.D., and renamed it Wuchang, which means "ruling the country by force and prospering the population". The name of Wuchang is interchanged with that of Ezhou today. According to archaeological excavations, Wuchang is the place where the ancients lived, such as Yingtai of Fruit Lake in Neolithic Age, Laoren Bridge in Nanhu Lake, Xujiadun and Qidun in Huashan Township, Hongshan District, etc.
In the old society, Wuchang handicraft industry was developed, mainly in shipbuilding, metallurgy and coinage. Wuchang's ceramics are called Inselaton. In addition, the most noteworthy thing in Wuchang is the repeated rise and fall of the Yellow Crane Tower, which has gone through more than ten times since the Three Kingdoms period, and each reconstruction presents a different style, reflecting the architectural styles and characteristics of different times.
The origin of Hanyang is closely related to Hanshui River. There is an old saying: "The north of the water is Yang, and Shan Zhinan is Yang". Ancient Hanyang was located in the north of Hanshui River, turtle Shan Zhinan, and was also called Yang because of the earth Yang, so it was named Hanyang.
In 606 AD, in the second year of Sui Daye, Hanjin County was changed to Hanyang County, and the name of Hanyang began. After the county government moved to Hanyang City in the Tang Dynasty, it developed rapidly.
Hanyang, especially Nautilus Island, has always been a place where merchant ships gather and distribute in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. During the Tang, Song, Yuan and Ming Dynasties, commercial handicrafts were very prosperous. At the same time, Hanyang is also a tourist attraction. Hanyang Guiyuan Temple is the best protected Buddhist jungle in Wuhan and a key cultural relic protection unit in Hubei Province.
The fortification of Wuchang and Hanyang started at the same time, about 1800 years ago.
Historically, Hankou and Hanyang developed synchronously for a long time. It was not until the tenth year of Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1474) that the Hanshui River was diverted (at least eight times in history) that Hankou developed independently, with a history of only 500 years. Hanyang and Hankou built city walls very early and were regarded as the places ruled by counties.
Hankou quickly became a new commercial port, and its reputation and development speed far exceeded Wuchang and Hanyang. In the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, Hankou was listed as the four famous towns in China along with Zhuxian Town in Henan, Foshan Town in Guangdong and Jingdezhen in Jiangxi. Hankou's port trade and transportation are quite developed, and it has become the largest inland port in China. There are scenes of "ten-mile sails near the city, and lights are on all night" (Wu Qishi) and "Jia Manyi, a resident merchant, is the first prosperous place in Chu". It can quite reflect its grand occasion. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Hankou was even more prosperous in the world, and only "salt affairs were the best in the world".
Zhang Zhidong, Governor of Huguang in the late Qing Dynasty, built the Zhang Gongdi in Hankou on 1905. This levee has lowered the water level year by year in Houhu area, made the barren lake and wild continent form land, and provided convenient conditions for the expansion of Hankou, which was originally narrow, and made an indelible historical contribution.
At the beginning of 1927, Wuhan National Government merged Wuchang and Hankou (under Hanyang County) into the capital and named it Wuhan. Today, Wuchang, Hankou and Hanyang make up the "Wu Hancheng", with a history of only 8 1 year.
historical and cultural cities
The history of urban civilization in Wuhan can be traced back to Panlongcheng 3500 years ago. This is the oldest city excavated in the Yangtze River basin, which is regarded by scholars as a breakthrough in the integration of civilization in the Yangtze River basin and civilization in the Yellow River basin. In 3500 years, because of the developed water transport and rich products, Wuhan has always been a battleground for military strategists and developed from a military center to a regional political and commercial center, so Wuhan has the advantages and characteristics of integrating multiculturalism. The culture of the first meaning of the Revolution of 1911 has created the humanistic spirit of Wuhan people who dare to be the first in the world.

Nine provinces pass through
Known as the thoroughfare of nine provinces, Wuhan is the largest land, sea and air transportation hub in China. It is about 65,438+0,000 kilometers away from big cities in China such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Xi 'an and so on. It is the "heart" of China's economic geography, with the functions of connecting east and west, connecting north and south, and maintaining the quartet. The unique location advantage has created the unique traffic advantage. Five railway trunk lines such as Beijing-Guangzhou, Beijing-Kowloon, Wujiu, Handan and Shanghai and six national highways such as Beijing-Zhuhai and Lurong meet here, and Wuhan is becoming one of the four major railway transportation hubs in China. Water transport has formed a passenger and freight network of "integration of trunk and branch, connecting rivers and seas", and Wuhan Port is an important hub port and opening port in the Yangtze River basin of China. Wuhan Tianhe Airport is the largest airport in Central China, and it is also the only entry and exit port in Central China that can handle visas on arrival. With the second terminal put into use, it has become the four major hub airports in China. The huge regional transportation advantage has promoted the rapid development of modern logistics industry in Wuhan. With the goal of building a national logistics hub city and rationally planning and arranging a modern logistics system with modern logistics parks, logistics centers and distribution centers as nodes, Wuhan's role as a bridge connecting domestic and foreign markets and promoting the interaction between the eastern, central and western regions is gradually emerging.
highway
The total mileage of Wuhan Highway reaches 1. 1.0039 million kilometers (including Tongcun Highway).

By then, Wuhan Airport will accommodate 300,000 people.
water transportation
Wuhan is an important port of the Yangtze River. There are Hannan Shamao Port, Yangsi Port, Wuhan Port and Yangluo Port. Wuhan Port is a transit station of the "golden waterway" of the Yangtze River. However, with the decline of the Yangtze River shipping, Wuhan Port has gradually changed its functions and become a long-distance bus station, with special tourist routes leading to the suburbs and long-distance passenger transport inside and outside the province. In recent years, the state and local governments have attached great importance to the development of the Yangtze River waterway, and the "golden waterway" has shown signs of recovery. The governments of Hubei Province and Wuhan City have also increased their investment in Wuhan Port. With the introduction of foreign capital from Hong Kong, the hardware facilities of Wuhan Port will have a qualitative leap in the next few years. There will be new berths for large ships (5000 tons) and modern oil booms to provide better transportation services for enterprises in development zones in Wuhan. This has also injected new vitality into the development of Wuhan. The expansion project of Wuhan New Port officially started in June 2008 +0 1, which will build the largest internal port in China.

Buses and ferries
The earliest bus in Wuhan is the 1 bus from Shuangdun to Five Blessingg Road. Up to now, there are hundreds of bus lines and seven trolley bus lines with the prefix 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. In recent years, in order to implement the suburban bus integration project, Wuhan has opened a 4-digit suburban bus. However, because this project involves the interests of CMB owners in the suburbs, there are still many obstacles in its implementation.
In 2002, Wuhan Gonggong Transportation Group was established by Wuhan Gonggong Automobile Company, Wuhan Tram Company, Wuhan Ferry Company, Wuhan Taxi Company, Wuhan Automobile Ferry Management Office and Wuhan Bus Factory, and was officially listed in 2003.
In 2007, Wuhan suburban bus integration project made a breakthrough. Wuhan Public Transport Group has successively taken over some private public transport companies in suburbs such as Huangpi, Xinzhou and Jiangxia, and contributed to the integration of suburban public transport.
