Stanley, a beautiful and diverse town.

brief introduction

Stanley is a beautiful town in the south of China. It is located in the east of Repulse Bay and the west of Shek O, full of exotic customs. Stanley is a famous tourist attraction in Hong Kong and a place with a unique history. It was once a British military stronghold and the administrative center of Hong Kong Island.

Introduction to Stanley

Stanley Peninsula is located at the southern tip of Hong Kong Island, between Repulse Bay and Shek O, while Stanley Town, centered on Stanley Street, has a harbor beach with a slow sea breeze, an ancient temple with a long history, a free and lively market and a bar street. Chinese and western cultures blend harmoniously here, forming a beautiful seaside town.

Stanley Beach and St Stephen's Bay are two beaches frequented by tourists. The former is slightly smaller, but it is located near Stanley Street. Whenever the sun rises, the reflected glow forms a red light column on the water surface, so it is known as "Stanley shines on the sun". There is also a barbecue area in the north of the beach. The latter is a little farther away, but there is a water sports center that provides sports services such as sailing and surfing, and water sports enthusiasts can show their skills.

The landmark buildings of Stanley, Murray Building and Bugong Wharf, are both ancient buildings with a history of 100 years. They are located in the central area. Due to the need of municipal construction, they have been demolished and moved to Stanley for reconstruction. Murray Building retains the classical Victorian architectural style, with old-fashioned chandeliers, fans and other decorations, which makes people feel like a lifetime ago. It is a good choice to shoot a retro blockbuster here, or to find a restaurant to taste the old days. A major feature of Stanley is the harmonious coexistence of Chinese and Western cultures. Not far from the beautiful building, it is a Stanley Tianhou Palace designed by a binary quadrangle. Here, more than 20 Taoist and folk gods, such as Tianhou Niangniang and Wong Tai Sin, are enshrined, and incense continues throughout the year.

Visitors to Stanley recommend visiting the Stanley market. Most of the souvenirs sold here are tourist souvenirs, such as postcards, T-shirts, antiques and ornaments printed with Hong Kong attractions. The prices of most commodities are negotiable, and girls who like to bargain can show their talents here. Besides shopping, restaurants and bars in Stanley are also places for tourists to stay. There are many bars and cafes in Stanley Street and Stanley Bay near the market. Stanley's bars are all small routes, semi-open European buildings and long transparent windows, which do not hinder you from enjoying the warm sunshine at all. Compared with Lan Kwai Fong, the mood is not bad at all, and the price is affordable.

I want to see different scenery, as well as Stanley Prison in Hong Kong and the Correctional Museum set up by the Hong Kong Correctional Services Department. Stanley Prison was once used as the location of the Hong Kong drama "Fighting Corruption and Building a Clean Government", while the Correctional Museum displayed the evolution history of the correctional system in Hong Kong, as well as exhibits such as cells and torture devices. Timid and young tourists are not recommended to go there.

Continue to the south of Stanley Peninsula, and you will arrive at Stanley Military Camp, which is usually closed to the public. Only during July and 165438+ 10 every year will the China People's Liberation Army hold open days to welcome citizens and tourists.
