Shanghai Tourism College, founded in 1979, is the earliest tourism college in China in the reform and opening up, and trains all kinds of middle and senior applied talents for China tourism.

After twenty years of pioneering, enterprising and hard work, the school has gradually formed five major functions: tourism education, training, scientific research, consultation and management center. The overall advantages of professional teachers, the school-running policy of paying attention to the cultivation of application ability and the graduates with good quality have won the reputation of the tourism industry at home and abroad. The school has become a member of the World Tourism Organization (OMT), vice chairman of the executive committee of the Asia-Pacific Network of Education and Training Institutions (APETIT), and one of the directors of the National Association of Tourism Institutions, and carries the list of world-famous tourism institutions.

Hotel management major

This major trains hotel management talents with all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetics, solid theoretical knowledge and professional skills of hotel management, and a certain foreign language level. Graduates mainly go to foreign-related tourist hotels, and they can also work in property management and tourism management departments.

Tourism management major

This major trains compound talents who can adapt to the needs of China's socialist modernization and tourism development, develop morally, intellectually and physically, and engage in management and specific business work in tourism management departments and tourism enterprises at all levels in China. Graduates mainly go to tourism management departments at all levels and various tourism enterprises, including hotels, travel agencies, various exhibition companies and tourist attractions development companies. Marketing major

This major trains middle and senior applied talents who meet the needs of socialist modernization, have all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetics, have solid management, marketing and related knowledge and professional skills, have a certain level of foreign language, focus on hotel and tourism marketing, and take into account the marketing work of other related industries.

Graduates mainly go to foreign-related tourism enterprises, property companies, tourism management departments and other industrial and commercial enterprises.

Property management major

This major trains applied talents who meet the needs of socialist modernization, develop morally, intellectually, physically and aesthetically in an all-round way, have the basic theoretical knowledge and professional knowledge needed by property management, and can be engaged in the management of tourist apartments (villas), office buildings, commercial buildings and cultural stadiums.

Graduates mainly go to property management companies to engage in property management.

Tourism English and Tourism Japanese (foreign languages): Tourism English and Tourism Japanese majors are English and Japanese professionals with all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique and beauty, high cultural literacy, professional knowledge and skills, high foreign language level and good health, who are qualified for foreign-related work such as tourism translation and tour guides.

Graduates mainly work in international travel agencies, but also work as translators in other foreign-related units such as tourism enterprises and industrial companies.

Cooking and catering management major

This major aims to cultivate professional talents with all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique and beauty for tourist hotels, with high cooking skills, certain professional theoretical knowledge, good catering management and certain foreign language level, who can be competent for the management of tourist hotels and social catering industry. Graduates mainly go to various hotels to engage in cooking and catering management, and some graduate to engage in catering teaching or other work.

Dietary nutrition and health specialty

This major mainly trains nutritionists and food inspectors who are well-developed morally, intellectually and physically, adapt to working in foreign-related hotels and other industries with higher standards, innovative spirit and practical ability.

After graduation, we will combine school recommendation with self-employment. Mainly in the nutrition and health care, food inspection departments of three-star hotels and other industries.
