It is a traditional wooden structure building in China, including the main hall (also called the main hall, with a shrine), the nave (main hall), the hall, the theater, the wing, the annex and the patio. Its architectural form is magnificent, elegant, dignified, or a combination of Chinese and western, which is intriguing. The clay sculptures, reliefs, wood carvings, colorful characters' allusions, flowers, birds and arowana in the temple are vivid, with harmonious layout and far-reaching implications. Eight characters of "filial piety, faithfulness, courtesy, righteousness and shame" are written in regular script on the left and right gables or the back gables of the main hall.

While accepting Jingchu culture and architectural technology, Tianzhu Ancestral Hall absorbed feudal ethics and family laws, innovated cultural patterns and enriched the cultural connotation of the ancestral hall. On the sixth day of June every year, the clansmen with the same surname in the ancestral hall "hang the spectrum and discuss it", so that the genealogy of the ancestral hall is free from moth and mildew. "Discussing the spectrum" is to review the family rules and the teachings of the ancestors and remember the merits and demerits. At present, the contents of the religious regulations are "obeying the law, being diligent and thrifty, respecting the old and caring for the young, being united and harmonious", which has injected new ideas.

Tianzhu ancestral temple culture embodies the rich connotation and regional characteristics of Miao and Dong ethnic history and culture in southeastern Guizhou, and contains a lot of information on ethnology, folklore, sociology, economics, history, anthropology, education, ethics, clan system and so on. They have well preserved the original appearance of history and have important historical, artistic and scientific values.
