The origin of the village. According to the "Laoshan County Chronicle", during the Chenghua Period of the Ming Dynasty (1465-1487), the Jia family moved from Yunnan to the city of Houzhuang, which later evolved into Cheng Gezhuang. Before the 1950s, Dongcheng Gezhuang, Nancheng Gezhuang and Beicheng Gezhuang were a natural village. In January 1961, the Chenggezhuang production brigade was divided into two production brigade, North Chenggezhuang and South Chenggezhuang. In January 1962, the Nancheng Gezhuang production brigade was divided into two production brigades, Nancheng Gezhuang No. 1 and No. 2. In July 1984, the brigade was abolished and the administrative village was restored. The Nancheng Second Brigade was renamed Dongcheng Gezhuang Village according to its location.

Population of the Administrative District

It is located 3.5 kilometers east of Shangma Sub-district Office, bordering the eastern salt fields of Dongfeng Salt Field to the south, bordering the Maomaogou River to the east, and Qiancheng Community and Beicheng Community to the west and north respectively. Neighborhoods are adjacent. In 2004, the village committee was abolished and changed to Dongcheng Community, with 983 acres of cultivated land and a population of 486 households and 1,289 people.

The contracted capital was 50 million yuan and the actual capital was 35 million yuan. In 2004, the total economic income was 36.09 million yuan, and the per capita income was 5,647 yuan.

Advantage industries Taking advantage of offshore advantages, more than 20 households have built 680 acres of shrimp ponds in the shallow sea area, with an annual output of more than 170 tons of shrimp and a total income of more than 5 million yuan.

The admission rate for the elderly with five guarantees and the kindergarten admission rate for children have reached 100%.
