Shandong Travel Diary

The sky was clear and the sun was shining brightly. Our family took our grandparents to visit Shandong. We visited five places in one day, namely: Daming Lake, Weihai Beach, Penglai Underwater Polar World, Changdao Crescent Bay, and Jiuzhang Cliff. The ones that impressed me the most were Weihai Beach and Jiuzhang Cliff.

After a long driving journey, we finally arrived at the long-awaited sea - Weihai. But we arrived a little late, so we could only play in the sand. The next day we arrived at the beach very early. The sea was as blue as the sky. I wanted to get in the water, but the water was too cold. I didn't get into the water until after ten o'clock when the sea water warmed up. The water is a bit deep and you can only play in the shallow water area. At two o'clock in the afternoon, the sea tide receded, and we could walk deeper. Not far from the shore, there was a beach in the middle of the sea. We picked up shells and dug clams there. I dug a big hole first, and then went deeper. Dig everywhere, and the deeper you dig, the more clams you get. I dug and dug, and my digging hands hurt, but I was very happy. We dug a small bucket of clams in one day and used them to make a delicious soup when we returned to our residence. It was very delicious.

Jiuzhang Cliff, I thought it was nine non-connected cliffs, but when I looked over, it turned out to be just one cliff. It is very tall and majestic, and it feels very steep when you stand on it. We walked along the reef, and the sea water lapped against the reef, creating layers of waves. We went to the Pearl Tunnel again. It was very cool inside. There were sculptures of mythical characters standing at the door, as if guarding the door and protecting the safety of tourists.

I love Shandong, and I also love Shandong’s scenic spots.
