The establishment of excellent tourist cities in China must be based on the Interim Measures for the Establishment and Management of Excellent Tourist Cities in China and the Inspection Standards for Excellent Tourist Cities in China, and the acceptance team of the National Tourism Administration will accept the excellent tourist cities to meet the requirements of the standard of "Excellent Tourist Cities in China". Since 1998, when China started to create an excellent tourist city in China, more than 300 cities have passed the acceptance test in eight batches.
