Prose about watching the sea in winter
In the middle of winter, the north is covered with ice and snow, but Hainan is still full of green.
The day before Christmas, a group of eight of us embarked on a trip to Hainan.
At four o’clock in the afternoon, we set off from our hometown Hegang and took a bus to Jiamusi. Both sides of the highway are pure white, and the snowflakes blowing in the wind are like flying elves, sometimes flying, sometimes spinning, and sometimes chasing the speeding car as if running away from the car. At this time, our mood was as excited as the snow. After more than an hour, we arrived at the starting point of our trip to Hainan - Jiamusi, the first town in the East.
After a short stay, we got on the train again and headed towards Ice City. At midnight that day, we safely arrived at the place where we took off, accompanied by joyous singing all the way. As soon as the train entered the ice city, crystal clear ice lanterns were everywhere. The brightly lit street lights and colorful ice sculptures set off a phantom-like scene. After entering the Ice City, we forgot about our fatigue and looked at the snow sculptures and ice lanterns like southern children. Although we, who are over fifty, have grown up in the snow and ice, and are good at sledding, ice skating, snowballing, and sledding, we are still dazzled by the spectacular sights of the world of ice and snow.
After a short stay and a short viewing, friends who yearn for the sea in their hearts are a little impatient. Because several of the eight people in our group have never seen the sea. At this time, I talked to people who had been to coastal cities about the majestic waves and vast scenes of the sea. However, none of us have yet experienced watching or even swimming in the sea in winter. Therefore, we are all waiting with a kind of expectation and yearning, imagining the sea view of Sanya.
At four o’clock in the afternoon on December 26, 2010, we boarded the flight from Harbin to Sanya. When the plane took off into the blue sky, the sky was already dark, and there were only blinking lights on the ground. In an instant, the sky was filled with stars. Looking through the window, it was all gray. We stopped twice via Shenyang and Ningbo. At around 9 o'clock that night, our plane landed at Sanya Phoenix Airport. It’s really incredible to say that just over 5 hours apart, when we got on the plane, we were all wearing cotton-padded clothes and trousers, and we all changed into shorts. It was so uncomfortable.
Early the next morning, we started our trip to Sanya. Following the tour guide around various scenic spots in western Sanya, visiting three or four places a day is actually just a quick tour. It’s so tiring to visit the Fengqing Garden, Big and Small Cave, Sanya Bay, Tianya Haijiao, Dadonghai, etc. The most unforgettable thing about my trip to Sanya was the winter cruise on the free day. According to the normal travel schedule, our last day in Sanya (December 31st) was a free day. On this day, we slept very late the night before, and naturally ate seafood and drank until late at night. When I got up in the morning, the sun had already climbed up the Nanshan Mountain early. After we had breakfast, we each took the equipment we had prepared and ran to the beach happily.
There are no seasons in Sanya’s winter beaches. The beach is full of tourists wearing bright swimsuits. The beach is so bright under the sun and as soft as the snow in the north. Several male compatriots quickly got into the sea, while the lady carefully took the swimming ring and wandered on the beach. We swam to the seaside, pushing the swimming ring towards the sea slowly. I pushed an office director who was accompanying us. She had almost no water skills. As soon as we reached about ten meters from the seaside, she screamed, To my surprise, I still walked two meters into the sea. She didn't want to, and then she shouted loudly, "I can't do it anymore, I can't do it anymore!" Helpless, I had no choice but to push her to the shore. In winter, the sea in Sanya is still so warm.
I have been on business trips for thirty years. I have also been to Qinhuangdao and other coastal cities, but this is the first time in my life that I have seen the sea in winter.
Sanya is so wonderful, with evergreen trees all year round and green eyes everywhere; the beach is always there and the coast can always be visited!
