1. Liuyuan was built in the 21st year of Wanli of Ming Dynasty. It is the private garden of Miss Xu Taishi of Taipu Temple. It was called Dongyuan at that time. At that time, the East Garden was "resplendent and magnificent, and the front building and the back hall were drunk". Rui Yunfeng's "A Bridge of Smoke in the South of the Yangtze River" and the stone screen piled up by Dieshan master Zhou are exquisite and steep, "just like a landscape painting". Today, the Huangshi rockfill in the lower part of Zhongchi and Chixi rockeries seems to be the remains of that year.

2. After Taishi's death, the "East Garden" was gradually abandoned. In the fifty-ninth year of Qingganlong (AD 1794), the park was acquired by Liu Shu, a native of Dongshan, Wuxian County. It was rebuilt in the former site of "East Garden" and was built in the third year of Jiaqing (A.D. 1798). Because there are many white pine trees and bamboo, the color of bamboo is very clear.

3. In the tenth year of Xianfeng (1860), all the places except Nagato in Suzhou were destroyed, but Hanbizhuang survived.
