Zengmu shoal, the southernmost territory of China, is familiar to countless people in China and haunted by countless people in China. But for most people in China, going to Zengmu shoal is a distant dream. Zengmu shoal (3 58 ′ N). However, in the works and papers on the investigation of Nansha by Nanhai Institute, it is mentioned that there are eight fairy shoals (3 54' north latitude) and ruins shoals (3 52' north latitude) south of Zengmu shoal. Their landforms are similar to Zengmu shoal, and they are also reefs below the sea surface, but the latitude is closer to the equator than Zengmu shoal. After consulting the information, I found that the statement that "Zengmu shoal is the southernmost tip of China's territory" first began in the book Geography of South China Sea Islands, written by Mr. Zheng Ziyue who participated in receiving the sovereignty of South China Sea Islands, and was one of the "Yu Fang Series" compiled by the Yu Fang Department of the Kuomintang Ministry of the Interior. Mr. Zheng wrote in his book: "Zengmu shoal is located at 4 degrees north latitude and near 1 12 degrees east longitude, which is the southernmost tip of Nansha Islands.
