What is the Australian 485 visa?

After September 1, 2007, one of the new visas introduced by the Australian Immigration Bureau is the 485 Skilled-Graduate Visa-Temporary. Similar to the 497 visa before September 1, the 485 visa not only allows applicants with 60 career nomination points, but also applies to applicants with 50 points. This visa is an 18-month temporary visa for students who have completed two years of study in Australia but failed to meet the immigration score requirements. The purpose of this visa is to allow students enough time to perfect their skills in all aspects to meet immigration requirements. There are no points requirements for this visa, but applicants must meet some basic conditions.
