Port Klang was formerly known as "Port Shwetinham". The largest port in Malaysia and the second largest port in ASEAN. It was built in 1973 as the first container freight port between the Red Sea and the Strait of Malacca. It is 40 kilometers east of Kuala Lumpur and has a population of about 130,000. Port Klang has an excellent location and has become the busiest port in Malaysia. It is also an excellent gateway to tourist destinations in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
