As of 215, Huzhou has jurisdiction over two municipal districts of Xing Wu and Nanxun and three counties of Changxing, Deqing and Anji.

Huzhou is located in the north of Zhejiang province, bordering Jiaxing in the east, Hangzhou in the south, Tianmu Mountain in the west, Taihu Lake in the north and Wuxi and Suzhou across the lake. It is the only city around Taihu Lake named after the lake. Located on the south bank of Taihu Lake, where the East Tiaoxi meets the West Tiaoxi. Wuxing District and Nanxun District are under the jurisdiction of Changxing County, Anji County and Deqing County.

Huzhou is an ancient city in the south of the Yangtze River with a history of more than 2,3 years.
