What are the fun places in the Czech Republic? (except Prague)
After taking pictures of the "Dancing House" from all directions, we walked along the river to the famous Charles Bridge. The buildings I saw along the way were all so beautiful. I don’t know which period the houses were from, but they used such complicated decorations. I particularly like their balconies, which are usually held up or lifted by sculptures on the left and right sides, which is very delicate. Their street lights are very funny, like a pillar holding two eyeballs, so funny! It’s time to explain the general layout of Prague. The Vltava River divides Prague into east and west halves. Important attractions on the west include Prague Castle and Mala Stana Square, and on the east there are Old Town Square Staromestké Námestí (Old Town Square), the Jewish Quarter, etc. The main attraction on the river is Charles Shiqiao (Karluv Most). Today we mainly visited the castle on the west side of the river. We crossed the river on a bridge south of the Charles Bridge so that we could take photos of the distant view of the Charles Bridge. To get to Prague Castle, you must pass through Mala Stana Square. Next to it is the famous Church of St Nicholas. The sculptures inside are amazing. I like to see the details of the sculptures, such as the folds of clothes and the expressions of the characters, which are very fine. After leaving the Church of St Nicholas, walk through the small square in front of the church, take the road in the upper right corner and climb up to reach the castle area. Along the way, you will encounter many famous buildings. There are various signs on each door, such as three violins, two suns, two stone eagles, etc. It is not difficult to confirm. It is also fun to hold a travel brochure with many detailed introductions and look for the houses mentioned in the book while walking. As soon as we arrived at the castle area, the light rain became more severe. Suddenly the wind picked up and it started pouring rain. Shan and I rushed into the castle to hide from the rain. Prague Castle is a building with a very complex structure. As soon as you enter the door, you will see St Vitus Cathedral. The lady who sold the tickets had a very arrogant attitude. First of all, as a staff member of a world-famous tourist attraction, she could not speak English, which is an international language, which is very dissatisfying. She also yelled at tourists in Czech, which made people confused and felt... Very unhappy. Later, I bought a ticket in a daze. St Vitus Cathedral is very large, and the stained windows inside are very beautiful, but...the churches are all very similar. For us religious laymen, it’s a bit confusing after seeing too many churches, and we can’t remember what they look like. I rather like the appearance of St Vitus Cathedral, especially because its drainage outlet is very rare (or is it just that I haven’t heard much about it?). It is a humanoid figure with its mouth open in the air. It happened to be a rainy day, and water jets came from the humanoid statue. It spurted out from the mouth, and when I looked up, I actually felt a bit of a frightening evil spirit, as if a demon was flying above my head and spitting. Haha~ The side door of the church, the Golden Gate, is very beautiful, with a colorful mural called "the mosaic of the Last Judgment" on it. , there are many lifelike small sculptures on the iron gate, which are very special. Go to Kutna Hora, a small town not far from Prague, to visit the famous Ossuary Church (also known as Bone Church). I took the train to Kutna Hora, and when I got out of the station, I didn’t know where to go because I couldn’t find enough information online. It also happened to be the weekend, so there was no staff at the station to ask. As we were looking at a map and couldn't figure anything out, another group of people came. We heard that they were also going to the Bone Church, so we proposed to go together. There was heavy snow falling outside (I was finally able to see the silvery Czech Republic, and I felt a little excited). We followed the group of people not far away and came to the legendary Bone Church. It is said that in 1278 AD, the abbot of the monastery was sent to the Holy Land in Jerusalem. When he returned here, he brought back soil from the Holy Land and sprinkled it on the church cemetery. This move made this cemetery civilized throughout Europe, and many wealthy people hoped to be buried here after death. During the Black Death epidemic in the 14th century, the area of ??this cemetery was continuously expanded. It is said that about 30,000 people were buried here in 1318 AD - but if you come here in person, you will never believe that such a small place can bury 30,000 people. ! Many of the bones in the cemetery were later exposed and piled up around the perimeter of the church. In 1511, a half-blind priest moved the bones to the interior of the church and used them for decoration. Later, due to the war, the church was partially burned down. An Italian-Czech architect renovated the church and used human bones to make various decorations such as spiers, crowns and candlesticks that we can see today. As long as you buy a photo license inside the church, you can take photos openly, which is quite cheap. Entering this church, which is decorated with countless bones, I feel a bit solemn. After all, they are the remains of dead people. But I still took a lot of photos because the opportunity was so rare. The following text is excerpted from the church's introduction brochure: "At the entrance of the church, "IHS" inscribed in Latin and Greek stands for Jesus Hominum Salvator (Christ the Savior of Humanity). There are two cups at the top of the stairs on both sides. and a cross.
As you go downstairs, there is an inscription on the right: Frantisek Rint Zceske Skalice – 1870. In the corner of the lower tower hall, you will notice a huge spire made of stacked bones. The fact that so many human bones are stacked on top of each other without interlocking and forming a steeple shape means that no one of the many people is qualified to face the crown and throne of God, and there will be no difference until death. The work of "redemption" has been completed by Jesus, the incarnation of God; it was crucified on the cross and completed by the resurrection of Christ. His resurrection also means that everyone who has died can receive new life again. Everyone with good intentions will win the glory of entering the kingdom of heaven. This is what the crown symbolizes. In the center of the church, there is a chandelier made of bones from various parts of the human body. Below the chandelier is the entrance to the basement, where 15 wealthy citizens are still buried. The candelabra surrounding the crypt are Barlow candelabra. In each alcove of the main dining table, you will find a lighting place. There is a shield-shaped coat of arms of the Schwarzenberg family on the left side of the lamp building. On the lower right of the president, there is a bald-nosed crow pecking through the eyes of a Turkish soldier, which represents Schwarzenberg. The home's victory over the Turks in the Raad War of 1591. The display case also contains the heads of many soldiers from the Hussite War. "After the heavy snow, the Charles Bridge showed a different look than before. There were still so many pedestrians on the bridge and it was very lively. There were also street performers performing in the heavy snow, which had a unique atmosphere. There are many statues on the Charles Bridge, it is said that there are thirty , is a Catholic saint and patron saint, with statues of goddesses, warriors, human-faced beasts, and beast-faced figures, etc. It is said that they are all top-notch works in the city. It is estimated that each statue has its own story. The statue is very interesting. Many passers-by are touching the relief on it, so that the touched parts are shiny. I don’t know why, but I have to touch it. After touching it, I will say, haha. There are many selling various products on the Charles Bridge. At the merchandise stall, Shan and I bought some cute earrings from a stall selling handmade jewelry. When we walked to the end of the bridge, there was a place with a big wheel called the Great Priory Mill, which seemed to have been turned into a church later. I don’t know the relevant history very well, so I won’t introduce it.
Following the road we walked on the 16th, we came to Golden Lane, which we had no time to visit that day. Golden Lane is composed of a row of cute little houses built in the 16th century, and was the residence of the castle gunners
