Sanggan River Grand Canyon Scenic Area Location Introduction-Transportation Guide

The canyon is located in Wangjiawan Township, Xuanhua County, Hebei Province. There are grottoes and temples on the rock walls not far from the canyon. Introduction to Sanggan River Grand Canyon

Sanggan River Grand Canyon Ecological Tourism Area is located in the Sanggan River Valley of Wangjiawan Township, the birthplace of the Chinese nation, at the southernmost end of Xuanhua County, Hebei Province, 56 kilometers away from Xuanhua kilometer.

The Sang River originates from Guanchuan Mountain in Luliang Mountain, Ningwu County, Shanxi Province, flows into Yangyuan (Nihe Bay), Hebei Province through the Datong Basin, and enters the sea through the Zhuolu-Huailai-Yanqing Basin in the southeast. Sang River is located in Xuanhua City, Hebei Province, about 40 kilometers from Nihewan Shihang to Zhuolu. It is a canyon section, forming a magnificent canyon landform.

Distribution of Attractions

Cave Temple

There is a Grotto Temple (Temple 28) on a cliff not far from the Grand Canyon. These temples are embedded in the 500-meter-high cliff on the east bank of Sanjiang River. Kongxuan Temple in Guangdong and Guangxi in Hengshan, Shanxi, and Shibatang in Yuxian, Hebei are one of the three major landscapes in Taihang Mountain.

Sanghe Grand Canyon is located in Wangjiawan Township, Xuanhua County. It starts from Goutou Mountain in Xiejiawan in the east and ends at Shixiang Grand Canyon in the west, with a total length of 20 miles. The mountains on both sides of the canyon are towering into the clouds, and there is a rapid river in the middle. The cliffs are steep, the rivers are winding and narrow, and the peaks on the ridges are abrupt. Between the cliffs, the scenery is beautiful and magnificent.

Not far from the Grand Canyon, there is a cave temple (28 temples) carved from the rocks on the cliff. These temples are all inlaid on the cliffs more than 500 meters high on the east bank of the Sanggan River, and are collectively called Xiangguang Cave. Ivory Cave is one of the three major hanging temples in Taihang Mountain, and is as famous as the Hanging Temple in Hengshan, Shanxi and the Eighteen Halls in Yuxian, Hebei.

Xiangguang Cave

According to legend, Xiangguang Cave was built in the Northern Wei Dynasty. This is a cave temple carved out of stone on a mountain. ***There are 28 caves, all inlaid on the 500-meter-high cliff on the east bank of the Sanggan River. The gods worshiped here are very efficacious, and many pilgrims often come to worship. 28 temples and walkways have been restored. On Yunxi Mountain are the ruins of the Jiuliandong Taoist Temple, a cave temple perched on a steep cliff.

Feipu Gorge

Feixiayan has a long history, complex lithology and dramatic structural changes. Gneiss was common 2 billion years ago, as were other granites, diabase inclusions, quartzite veins, etc. There are various water features in the scenic area, and they are completely natural landscapes with gurgling streams of different shapes. Running water washes away the rocks, making their surface smooth and transparent.
